I feel as though this gif should immediately be followed by Cally and Jenna saying, "We buried him out back." "Yes, he was getting a bit excitable."

Possibly followed by a great deal of arguing over who now 'owns' the Liberator, with Zen finally declaring no one the winner and spacing them all except Jenna, whom he loves.

This is, yes, all hyperbole and avoidance of my thoughts and feelings over the last two episodes of Person of Interest, because I thought up something while replying to someone on the wegetcarter episode discussion post. Which is probably not actually something new or anything. I'm most likely entirely behind the curve. But.

Anyway, avoidance.

I am not caught up on most things. One episode behind on Elementary, many episodes behind on Scandal, BatB, Leverage and whatever else it is I watch. One episode behind on Bomb Girls. I am sort-of caught up on Lost Girl, and have all the Dark Phoenix plot lines ever, gimmegimmegimme feels about it.

(I'm also beginning to feel I may break my resolve and buy more lj time, as I really miss having ICONS. I'm attempting not to, because, well, some of their upgrades have been sort of hideous)

Kenzi first. Anyway. After re-reading de Lint's book about Jacky Rowan, it has occurred to me that Kenzi from Lost Girl is a Jack.

Book list:
The Strange Adventures of Rangergirl by Tim Pratt - Very pulpy in feel, but entertaining. I kept picking it up when I was bored with other things.

Daughter of Exile by Isabel Glass - Fairly standard fantasy and politics fair, and a bit simplistic. Was entertaining despite the frustration of how the dudes kept doing All the Things while the one time a woman got to do magic-things, her scene was two paragraphs long (contrasted to the three pages spent on the dude).

Gossamer Axe by Gael Baudino (re-read) - bi-sexual (leaning to lesbian) harper girl takes on the Fairy realm with an all-girl heavy metal band to rescue her trapped lover. Lots of mysticism and "womanly mysteries" stuff is mixed in, but even now it's pretty solidly entertaining.

Snow White and Rose Red by Patricia C Wrede (re-read)
Jack the Giant-Killer by Charles de Lint (re-read)

1. Scott and Bailey is back. I'm fairly certain my gleeful happiness could be heard all up and down the street. My thoughts basically boil down to: <3 <3 <3 OMG Gill's bff from the other syndicate <3 <3 Gill! <3 Janet! Janet's mum! Rachel! <3 etc, etc, etc.

2. Lost Girl is having its season finale next Sunday. What am I going to do while it's on hiatus? *angsts* (that said, 2x21 <3)

3. Mac was back in the latest Phryne Fisher installment (hurrah!). The show continues to be entertaining fluff. With dead bodies.

4. I plowed my way through Dragonsdawn last week (maybe plow is the wrong word, as I mostly enjoyed the re-read, though I disliked Sean Connell a lot more than I did the last time), and skimmed straight through Dragonsong and Dragonsinger last night (OMG THE TEEN ANGST OMG).

4a. This was because I'd managed Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern not that long ago, and didn't hate it. Which is possibly faint praise, as it hit many of my kinks like WORLDWIDE EPIDEMICS and people desperately running against the clock to saaaaave everyone and Moreta basically pwning everyone's balls.

On various recs from my flist, I watched Pan Am and Revenge. I also caught up on Lost Girl (except for 2x6, as the file I had was wrong)

Revenge I mostly watched on ABC's site, which isn't so fun, as I loathe commercials. Ugh. Mostly worth it, though. (I'm liking how it's all complicated, but the women aren't being demonized for having sex? If that makes sense)

Pan Am is silly, but fun. I like all the main female characters, and Dean is sort of blandly useful. The other dude is sweet, but kind of an ass. Also. Goran Visnjic is pretty.

Lost Girl had some excellent bits in the two episodes (srsly, drunk bffs joking about curses = awesome). Also, is it wrong of me to hate the new Ash? Because I do. And wish a great deal of ill on him. (and half an episode with bad accents about Dyson's past = SO BORING)

Once Upon a Time 1x2 was... nice? The little boy is really obnoxious, though. And I sort of feel like, even though all of the women have the power, the men (or, Rumpels) manipulate them? idk.

The Body Farm. Mainlined all of the first series, and while it's all right, I feel frustrated at how it has so many flashbacks. I don't think they help at all, and the science would be more interesting, but is ignored. (also, I have this weird id-reaction to Mike in that I want to climb him like a tree. ahem.) I like the characters--except the cop, whom I find a complete asshole.

(between Revenge and Once Upon a Time, I'm really missing Eastwick, too. sigh)

ALSO. Covert Affairs was back, and there was shirtless, unscrupulous Jai. Mwah.

I shall try to have more intelligent thoughts at a later date.
lyssie: (Spooks are the angstiest spies ever)
1. SPOOKS IS BACK OMG I MISSED IT SO. ok, it is probably not the Best Show Ever. But whatever. <3 (even if they still can't give Tariq a line to save their own asses). ok, I tried not to have spoilers, but my brain is impatient )

Um. Sorry.

2. um. I wrote Amy/Karen Gillan femslash. idek (it's a double drabble)

3. Lost Girl was an improvement this week (funny how no Dyson automatically makes an episode 50% better). I LOVE MY GIRLS. <3 <3 <3

4. Still not watched Eureka. Or Haven, come to that (spoilery reasons are still pissing me off). eta: spoilers in comments for Haven
lyssie: (Bo and Kenzi are on the case!)
1. KENZI. BO. LAUREN. HALE. TRICK.

That's five, right there.

I think I need to re-watch it before I know what I think?

Meanwhile, here is that song towards the end (ripped from youtube, so, not the best version) Johnny Hollow's 'Nova Heart' - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RH4D56NL

2. REAL LIFE.

I couldn't get into the car this morning, I also bent my key something ridiculous. Did manage to get in with applications of a hot water bottle. So, I wasn't too late.

I also bent one of my nails back halfway down the length, and you can see where the fold was as my nail polish has a crack all the way across. Typing wasn't so fun (and isn't).

(and yes, it wasn't that cold, but it was still very dnw.)

3. LEVERAGE OMG. <3 I am not coherent about that at all. But it was awesome (if you consider this a spoiler, might I remind you that EVERYTHING LEVERAGE DOES EVER is awesome to me? Yes, even the 'bland' episodes). I also might have spent yesterday watching every Tara Cole episode. <3

4. dear CK, please cease stomping my heart into the floor (even if I wanted to loathe Daniel Sparks to hell and back, I still managed to get over it by the end, and, and, Mrs. McVinnie. *sniffles*). I can only hold out hope that some stupid publisher will manage to reprint some of her older stuff Reforming Lord Ragsdale, why did I not steal you from the library lo those many years ago?.

....I lost my train of thought back there. Mostly, it's Christmas season, so I've been re-reading Carla Kelly's body of work in order to crush my soul. (even if there's happy endings). I think the one about the Oxford Career is up next (I've got short story anthologies, too. *suddenly more cheerful*)
