1. I made the mistake of updating java, since so many things require it. And firefox lost all of my tabs. I am cranky and annoyed about this. I had a bunch of things open for a reason, dammit.

2. Missing (the lifetime one) is not going to continue streaming on netflix. This makes me sad, though it does mean I've had a sudden interest in marathonning it. Also, Jess/Janey hatesex would have a huge following if they were dudes (ok, so would Jess/Nicole, especially that one time Jess took a bullet for her). Sometimes, I just can't with fandom's obsession with penis.

3. It is possible that I listening to Wreck of the Titan again made me appreciate it more (ok, I liked it a bit the first time, too). Oh, Doctor, HOW WRONG YOU ARE. hehehehe. This inevitably leads to Legend of the Cybermen and Alice (and spoilers). (also, Big Finish might not always bat a thousand when it comes to putting female characters in their audios, but LotC is not one of those, and Alice is amazing, and if there were a tv series featuring her adventures as based on LotC Alice, I would watch it with bells on). Also, both of those have Alexander Siddig in them. His voice is still amazing.

4. You know the best thing about eating breakfast at home? Not feeling like your stomach is trying to devour itself on the drive to work.

5. Playing Ticket to Ride online is entertaining, though I've only done it twice. I say entertaining, as I've kicked the computer's ass both times. I don't really have any interest in playing against real people, though. (making train routes is addictive, ok. But real people are annoying, and try to message you.)

1. No more Missing for me. Sigh. Dyson never showed up, but Nina Sharp did. So did Percy's favorite cleaner guy (aka, Andre from Painkiller Jane).

2. I really liked the show, it was cheesy and silly and also tense and full of awesome women. Understandably, there is no fandom (being on cable, for one thing. having female leads, for another. and the death sentence: being on Lifetime). The only fic ff'net lists is a crossover with JAG. Written in French. In script form.

3. The show made me multi-ship a lot. I mean, aside from things like Pollock/his wife, because holy god, canon and so adorable (well. As adorable as one can imagine Pollock to be). Also, Janey is hard to ship with anyone but Jess (but, in the hatesex way). I really also want Nicole and Brooke to meet some day. Because the world would implode from the awesome.

4. In other news, I will never forgive newskool Who for not casting Don Warrington as Rassilon (it's pretty much the only reason I would ever have watched that episode) But, srsly, the man pwns the role in the audios and I get gleeful handclappy giggles at the thought of him on my tv screen as Rassilon.

5. I bulled my way through the Divergent Universe stuff this week--I'm still not so fond of C'Rizz and his aaaaaaaaaangst, but it wasn't as annoying as I'd remembered it. Still deeply in love with Daphne Ashbrook's bit in The Next Life. Still love the whole labyrinth-y bit (in Caerdroia) for making me think of Popplewick and Trial of a Time Lord.

6. I've pretty much failed to write anything more for the fslash porn battle.

7. I should do stuff for femslashland, though. hrm.

The show really feeds my need for revenge. I've always known I had a vicious streak, but getting to watch Nicole beat the crap out of someone, or Jess knee-cap a guy? Um, yes. It makes me gleeful, ridiculously so.

lyssie: (Kara Sam WHAT IS THIS)
At least it's better than Monday.

Lauren has been on Missing now. I'm waiting for Dyson, to complete the main-cast Lost Girl set. I could check imdb to see when he appears, but that feels like it'd be cheating.

Having seen Mastriani handle herself in a fight, it makes even less sense how Syfy's Alice (using the same actress) kept putting her in the background and letting the men fight for her/defend her. She's not the baddest ass, but she's not shabby, either.

1. I've been watching Missing (aka 1-800-MISSING) all weekend. I discovered it while poking around an image archive and trying to figure out what the hell it was. And then I did. And then I watched it. A lot.

The premise is that a college grad gets hit by lightning and starts having visions of missing people in her dreams. She ends up joining an FBI task force, searching for missing people. The FBI agent who ends up her partner is skeptical at first, but begins to accept and believe.

The first season has some horrifically bad bits of ignoring FBI procedure (in stupid ways that make the cases harder to solve), and is very emotional. Lots of hugging, lots of boyfriends and building up personal lives for the two leads (the third woman on the cast talks about her husband a lot). This is not a bad thing, but I can understand why they changed it up for the second season. There's only so much they could milk out of it. (don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed large portions of it, but I'm glad to move on from "every woman needs a man" and "boyfriends are only here to be annoyances" [except for that one time Jess's boyfriend disappeared between the teaser and the first act])

The second season is buddy cops, since the psychic went to Quantico and joined the FBI, and she then gets a new partner and a new assignment in Washington. (sadly, they also lost Sunny who was the evidence tech, and also awesome)

I've really been enjoying it, but only if I pretend to ignore police and FBI procedure.

2. Tomorrow, I'm going hunting for femslash (and also my guilty pleasure ship of Jess/Jack).

3. The show is co-written at times by Lee Goldberg, which is slightly disconcerting. I get this uncomfortable feeling where I don't want to enjoy it based on it being written by him.

4. Also, so far the show has had Bo, Hale and Kenzi as guest stars. Bo and Hale were in the same episode and storyline. It's also had Fred Durkin from Nero Wolfe as an ex-Navy SEAL killing machine, which sort of doesn't work. 'Cause, um, Fred Durkin is the nicest of the PIs working for Wolfe, and it just jars.

5. In other, non-Missing news, is it Easter yet? SIGH.
