lyssie: (Thanos' friends are all dead poor baby)
1. BSG friending meme over here

2. I'm stealing [livejournal.com profile] cujoy's idea and babbling about my tv shows. Since I've been silent about most of them, generally (except BSG. I'm very aware of being loud and obnoxious about it).

Leverage. Words cannot describe how much I love this show. It's cracky and geeky and their are women in it and they talk. Not a whole lot, but then, no one spends time talking to each other in this outside of jobs and such. Parker is my favorite, with Alec Hardison and Sophie tying for second followed by Nate and Eliot. Christian Kane's hair grew on me, and I'm disturbed to say I find it attractive now.

Bones. I think we're mostly caught up on this (other than whatever showed last night?), and while I'm still enjoying it, it's definitely gone down a bit in quality. I'm not sure if the writers are a bit uncertain where to go with things or if they're worried about being stale, so trying new 'shock' techniques out. ALTHOUGH I LOVE AGENT PEROTTA. She's smart, snarky and blonde (and I so have a type). I'm hoping she'll stick around a bit more.

NCIS. Still rules, though, I think it's having the same problem as Bones is. I know cop shows and detective work and crime are pretty routine, but, guys, you don't have to shake it up every week with a New Shocking Reveal. Tuesdays episode was a prime example and I was REALLY GLAD they didn't go where they were pretending to go. Ziva and Abby, though, are still awesome.

Forensic Files. Though, depressingly, we've seen almost every episode. We spend more time deleting episodes we've seen off the dvr than actually watching it. Sigh. But it's awesome, and the forensic fire-arms examiner they have in their commercials is also awesome.

Dollhouse. Actually, my intention is to watch with the sound down all the way, to see if Tahmoh takes his shirt off (not muted, because then I can read CC, and, dude, the last time I did that, I suffered through Cain's Razor speech... Or was it Romo talking to Lee?). The premise is ripped straight from Ghost in the Shell, and Eliza Dushku can't act (ever seen Tru Calling? I rest my case).

Criminal Intent. You know the most depressing thing about catching marathons of older episodes? They were so much better than the current crap (not that it's back yet, but.).

In Plain Sight. Oh, Mary Shannon. Sigh. Pity I never actually caught the last half of the first season, due to moving? But you are coming back, so, yay. Maybe they'll get smart and pair you up with Leverage?

Torchwood. I'm scared to finish series two. I mean. I'm spoiled for bits of it. But.
Doctor Who. Um. Haven't managed to watch the back halves of either series three or four? Except Blink.

3. Yeah, it's a short list. I'm really picky about my tv. For the record, Sanctuary and Sarah Connor Chronicles suffered the same problem: both pilot episodes were more about the whiny white men than about the women. I don't care if that's changed. Neither pulled me in enough (also, Sanctuary had a criminal under-use of Kandyse McClure, and if she'd been the one pulled in, I might've actually stuck around) to bother with more. Most other shows have an appalling lack of women, treat them like disposable condoms (hi, Supernatural and Stargate: Atlantis), or don't interest me.

4. I am home from work because I have dental surgery today.

So. Dollhouse.

Totes feminist. That's why every commercial break has a naked Eliza Dushku posing pornographically.
