Y'know, Depeche Mode's "Halo" is a bad bad thing to be listening to, no matter what fandom or 'ship you're concentrating on. I mean. Really. Bad.
Earlier, I had Sarah MacLachlan's "Wait" to make me think of Kitty/Pete. Because they had no resolution, and even if they did, it wouldn't be a happy go lucky type. And it's still vaguely painful. But. "Wait" is bad for that sort of thing (and then the double-whammy of "Fear" after it. Shit, it was like the Primer For a Bad Relationship....)
But. "Halo". Man. "When our worlds they come apart, when the walls come tumbling in..." End of the world stuff.
And how many of the couples or non-couples, or just people, single people. Worry about the end of the world and whether it was all worth it? And is it worth it?
"When all we wanted was the dream..." "Winter's end, promises of a long-lost friend..." "It will be worth it..."
Yes. But will it?
Hrm.
And is it a requisite that people have each other? (this is partially hypothetical). Is it required that each man, woman, child, have some significant other to be whole? Or can someone exist on their own and still be happy and content?
Or am I missing something essentially vital...
Oh well. At least my fictives benefit. Even if Bad Things also happen to them.
