SFF: Bletchley Circle San Francisco, Series 1

So, I hadn't actually been aware that a new series was in production. I found out when the first episode dropped on thevault, and was gleefully surprised. I love Bletchley Circle, and while I miss the other three women (ok, Hattie because she's hot, shut it), Millie and Jean are both of my favorites, as well.

While I downloaded it, I never got round to watching it. I purchased the DVDs, since I tend to buy things when I want more things like them (I was buying DeConnick's Captain Marvel run despite not really clicking with it, and Miss Marvel, too, though I liked that a bit better--I want more women writing comics!)

Er. ANYWAY.

As I was packing for Christmas this year, I shoved BC: SF in my things, as mom liked the first two series, too.

This was an excellent plan, as she hadn't seen it, either.

there isn't a manual for this! a bit of DW and such

1. I have seen more of Thirteen! Up through Demons of the Punjab were marathonned with my parents over Christmas. It means I actually watched Rosa all the way through (my second-hand embarrasment squick kicked in the first time). And I still think the guy at DragonCon was a racist asshole, and am still a bit annoyed that none of the panelists fucking called him out on it. No, there were no good white people in Rosa, jack-ass. That was the whole fucking point (including Thirteen and her treatment of Rosa, as much as she was trying to help, was so very micro-agressions).

2. Still not fond of Graham. Or Ryan, tbh. I think dudes are just Not My Thing (I didn't like the pregnant alien dude in the one episode, either).

3. I need to watch more of the season before I have any other thoughts.

4. Work for a full week after the break of the holidays has not been fun. I hates it.

5. I tried to write some femslash for the stocking thing, and failed for the most part. I did some Edith/Lucille, but I'm having a hard time writing them without involving Thomas (I think my brain finds them a very tangled triangle, and it's hard to sort out part of it). I was trying to write something for the femslash kink meme, but it ended up being full of Thomas, so I've stopped for the moment.

6. Speaking of, people should write more for the kink meme: https://femslash-kink.dreamwidth.org/ There's a ton of prompts and varieties, and the lack of Terminator: Dark Fate femslash there is baffling me.

7. Seven has fucked off for some ice cream.
