5. sex, age, race, physical ability, class and any other exterior quality doesn't matter. It's what's inside that counts.

things I've learned from 30 minutes of some Harry Potter movie.
1. Hermione hits people.
2. Harry is pointless, useless, and spends most of his life whining.
3. In actuality, Hermione is the lead character, Harry's just a prop to keep the woman-hating masses from going apeshit (not that it works).
4. If HP had been written with a girl lead character, no one would have cared, and it would have joined the thousands of similar books on the shelves as "just another chick book".

Because if I don't do it, I'll focus on the stack of handwritten paper on my desk that's full of more than ten different fics. That should be typed in and finished so I can post them. Sigh. Am lazy tonight.

Ahem. Five pairings that make me squee, though not always to non-fannish types. (this is hard. I get all serial monogamous...)

1. Kara Thrace/Sam Anders. I'm fairly certain I squeed to my brother about them when I forced him to watch Occupation/Precipice last fall.

2. Aeryn Sun/John Crichton. My mother and I bond over them. A lot.

3. Kitty Pryde/Pete Wisdom. They didn't speak in canon for ten years. Okay, so, technically, it was probably only like six months, Marvel-time. But it was ten years OUR time.

4. Sam Carter/Kara Thrace or Sam Carter/Vala Mal Doran. Sorry, they have to share this spot, because they're equally as hot, even if one gets written more than the other (also, the threesome possibilities make me want to go away now).

5. Domino/Cable. Technically, with Aeryn and John on this list, they should get crossed out. Thus. Jean Grey/Scott Summers. ;)
