Today has been... boring in one way, nail-biting in another.

Since I've been at the insurance company for two weeks, sop is to have me take a drug test. So, bright and early this morning, I cruise on to the drug test place. Go in. Sign in.

Wait.

Try to ignore the screaming, overly rambunctious child. *shudder* These places come with them attached.

Wait.

Read 'In the Presence of the Enemy'.

Wait.

Get called. Find out they need some sort of paperwork. But B. Loehr said it would be there. They call. I wait.

There was another BLoehr girl there. We both waited.

Finally, three phone calls, and thirty minutes later. "We don't have your paperwork. We can't test you. But we'll validate your parking. Byeee."

So I go to work an hour and a half late, with nothing accomplished (other than another chunk of book read).

And I spend the day making out form letters. Changing addresses and such, and printing them. It was sooo mentally stimulating, I've got to say.

Came home, frantically finished the book, since it was at a scary place.

And, so, I have to say that Elizabeth George is a *very* good author. The book started a little slow, and I still think she leans a little too much on the side of verbose when it comes to her characters' thought processes. But. It was a great read.

Of course, compared to Ship of Ghosts, I suspect almost anything would be a good read.

...maybe not Hartman.

Unfortunately, I've now finished the book, and my other George books are packed. I really don't want to reread Payment in Blood, but... perhaps I will. Or perhaps I will go to the library tomorrow.

Yes. Library.

And comics.

*bounces* COMICS!

This's for Taps. In honour of the fact that Gil needs a damned hug.

As always, copy/paste...
