Several things, since I don't feel like doing a bunch of little entries.

Kosling, of course my mind is devious. In fact, much of that deviousity can be laid at *your* door. Lindsey in a kilt with no shirt?

Bevs. Sorry this took so long, I've been out of touch. I should make it up to your place around 6. It would have been earlier, but the frelling credit union wouldn't let me put my check in, so I have to wait until they open. Yes. I seethed.

They have *always* let me put in my check on the Thursday, even though it's dated for Friday. It's actually been kind of amusing. Most times, I didn't care. This time, I wasn't thinking to myself, "Don't look at the date, don't look at the date."

And. Boom. She checked. And balked.

Flonqing twits.

I've been immersed in Elizabeth George most of the week. In one sense, it's good. In another, it's bad. I have homework due on Tuesday, homework that has NOT been studied for or even remotely touched. Sigh.

The good comes in the fact that every moment of tension and angst is worth it for the occassional amusing comment from Havers. I adore Havers.

Lynley mysteries have been let upon an unsuspecting TV watching public. According to the IMDB, they are in no particular order:

Inspector Lynley Mysteries: For the Sake of Elena, The (2002) (TV)
Inspector Lynley Mysteries: Missing Joseph, The (2002) (TV)
Inspector Lynley Mysteries: Payment in Blood, The (2002) (TV)
Inspector Lynley Mysteries: Well Schooled in Murder, The (2002) (TV)
"Inspector Lynley Mysteries: A Great Deliverance, The" (2001) (mini)

...my God. Tim Pigott-Smith was Philip Weaver. That's so VERY wrong.

Anyway. The amusingly odd thing is that, in the books, Lynley is blond. In the shows, he's dark-haired.

Coincidentally, so are several other slightly angsty police/detective types. Jeremy Brett as Holmes, Clive Owen as Tanner, Robson Green as Creegan. I could dig more out, I'm sure.

In other coincidental news, Without a Trace tonight was almost like watching a remake of the first episode of Touching Evil. Same Pedophile kidnapper type. Same icky cold stare. Same unshatterable poise from the man you want to beat in. I prefer Creegan's "Where are they, you bastard!" to LaPaglia's dispassionate cozying up.

But it's very interesting.

Another recent paralell - A minor comment in For the Sake of Elena had Havers doing a favour for a friend, and looking over the remains of someone buried in concrete... five years before. Interstingly enough, I just saw an old episode of CSI which had the same exact plot.

I'm sure there are others.

Oh. And for Kossie, tonight's CSI seemed too short, although Warrick and Nick bonded (scarily). And it was slightly angsty for Warrick.

In other TV coincidences, I flipped channels after CSI was over, and happened upon a scene in the movie 'Fear'. With... Grissom. He was somewhat younger, but it was very surreal. During Without a Trace, I flipped channels (commercial break), and came upon LaPaglia in some mobster movie.

Bed soon. Must go and check that last load of laundry.

Staying up until 8 this morning to finish Playing for the Ashes really screwed over my schedule. Ohwell.
