Tragedy at Marsdon Manor
Oct. 17th, 2011 10:12 pmI attempted to watcch 10x5 of Spooks, and made it only two minutes in before turning it off as it was rubbish (Harry, we know how this goes, do train bombs in Tehran remind you?). Though I suspect that is more because while it is rubbish, it is also set against the fact that I spent the day listening to Poirot, which is not rubbish. (and in doing so, discovered an episode I had never seen, with a marvelous leading lady who was ~awesome~ and should have her own detective series.)
And then I was going to watch The Body Farm when I realized that watching rotting corpses whilst eating dinner was a bad idea.
So now I am re-watching some Poirot.
(early Poirot, as some of the more recent stuff has been creepy)
In other news, there are still stories being posted for the Kara Thrace/Sam Anders-athon (at
pyramidofdreams) I GOT CRACKTASTIC FABULOUSNESS. \o/
Friday, a fox crossed the road in front of my car. I say this as though it dashed across far ahead, but in fact--I was approaching the on-ramp onto 794 and there were cars ahead of me. The fox darted out, paused, then dashed back as the car in front of me wasn't slowing. It waited till that car was past, saw I--and the truck next to me--had slowed, then made its quick way across three lanes of traffic to reach the island in the middle. I hope it made its way safely across the other side.
Tonight, I missed seeing someone smash into a pole down on Lincoln Memorial. Missed by, maybe, two minutes. I'm not being morbid, I'm just confused. How do you do that? It's a straight road, at the signal for the water tower drive. (the driver seemed perfectly fine, he was rummaging about for his cell phone)
