On this fine Thursday in August...
Aug. 18th, 2011 06:45 ama. On my walk this morning, I discovered there are five churches within a six-block radius. And the area is only that big because one of the churches dares to be on a block all by itself. The other four are in sets of two. Episcopalian, Lutheran, one I'm pretty sure is Catholic, one I'm not sure of at all... and the fifth looked like it wasn't in operation. Or at least wasn't advertising it.
b. I woke up from my dream, and lay in bed, sort of bemused. I'd been dreaming that we were setting up a femslash convention at a hotel.
ariestess was in charge, and I was helping set up the tent where we were going to host weddings--apparently, it was also a lesbian convention. There was lots of duct tape involved to get the tent poles to stay in place.
I'm not entirely sure if it was related to the music I had running all night at a low volume or the fact I've just realized I missed my fslash today update last night. *facepalms*
c. I am late for my shower. *flees*
d. eta: also, I saw a house that was painted to look like a gingerbread house, which was sort of oddly eerie, as Raputina's 'Gingerbread Coffin' was playing through my head at the time.
e. eta 2: It occurred to me while in the shower that there is a classic Who villain that I would love to see in the new series (I mean, aside from the Ice Warriors, and that's a separate letter to come), and that is the Mara. I'd even be ok with Rory getting Mara'd.
f. Speaking of Ice Warriors, I'd love a new Peladon adventure, complete with the normal Peladon aliens and palace intrigue. It would be even better if the new Queen were a descendant of the king from Bride of Peladon and she spent some of her time flirting outrageously with the Ponds and it culminated in an offer of group marriage. After all, the Ponds of Peladon has a certain ring to it; and it's not like Earth-blood is bad for their gene pool.
Of course, there would be other shenanigans and attempts at coups, and crazy cultists and betrayals amongst the Federation Elite... Which would possibly result in a strange temporal warp that the Ponds use to visit their families on Earth occasionally.
