...I did not think it was that late. Although. It means this banner just took me something like five hours.

Damn.

I haven't changed my lj layout in something like three years, so this is kind of a momentous occasion.

Seriously, I had the hardest time going through images to decide who to put in there. And then when I decided on who, I had to decide what shot. And. ARGH. So hard. I couldn't fit the Babylon 5 girls, and none of my Touching Evil folder is unzipped, so no Susan Taylor. And no Keeley Hawes, either. And only Martha for Who, because Martha pwns all. And stuff (seriously. Have you seen her shoulders and arms? You people should TOTALLY know I have a thing for shoulders and arms. And tattoos.)

And no Jool or Siko or Noranti or Grayza or Allura, or every X-Man or member of CrossGen that I adored or TULIP. Because Tulip also kind of pwns all.

Sigh.

However, if you can name every woman up there, I'll be impressed.

In poking at the stats [livejournal.com profile] redstarrobot was doing last night on the disempowerment/death of women in the last four seasons of Doctor Who, my brain decided this morning as I lay half-awake to start rambling about Gwen from Torchwood and how fandom dislikes her and how in some ways, I think her character choices were exceedingly masculine rather than feminine.

(but first, links to the stats, since they're rather depressing for a show that's modern and claiming to be feminist)

The original stats, dealing with just the women
Newer stats, with men taken into account
Here be spoilers through the TW season finale )
