Skiffy's boards.
Mar. 10th, 2007 09:22 amFull of scariness, including the part where... there are vocal males in fandom. wtf? Who gave them a voice? Full of wank and really stupid commentary, too.
Things what I have learned:
1. No one wanted Amanda Tapping on BSG until now (sad).
2. Apparently, Ben and Claudia are the reasons Farscape and SG-1 were cancelled 'prematurely'.
3. Kara/Lee shippers say good night to each other. For pages. WOW.
4. I got name-checked. First, one of my desktops. Second, I'm apparently someone's favorite Kara/Anders writer. (um, yay?)
5. Using my pointless log in to continually picspam Anders and Kara/Anders on the respective threads is a bad thing. Really. At least I'm not responding to myself.
6. BSG fandom is not as well-versed in capitalization and spelling and grammar as LJ would lead me to believe.
7. At least there isn't BSG virtual season wank. Yet.
eta: please consider there to be spoilers in the comments. Also. Jean Grey dies.

meme time.... Five favorite fics...
Mar. 10th, 2007 10:20 amI got tagged, and this took a while (seriously, people. I have to choose just FIVE?) These are the stories I read on rainy days, or when I'm feeling particularly like I suck...
Writer's Meme: Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.
1. The Ring, The Wormhole and the Leviathan - Crossover: Farscape, Lord of the Rings. I am still incredibly proud of making John Crichton the Ringbearer. Not to mention. Well. Recursion. And other things. It was fun as hell to write, too.
2. Coconut Island - SG-1, Sam/Jack. Because I stole Marvel canon and made it work. Because it's not completely happy, and there's still angst, even at the end. Because it's comforting to read. Yes. (For the record, Cauterized People, Up Against It and Forever Autumn also fall into my favorites...)
3. Velocity - Farscape, DMD AU. Someday, I will finish Inertia and whatever I was going to name the third in that little arc. But, yes. I love this because I did bad things to John and made Aeryn see freaky crap. And. Well. Because I'm mean.
4. John Crichton Explains it All - Because it still holds true. Because John has been through the ringer and back, and his advice is sound. Because I even worked in a Freedom and Necessity reference, AND a Cowboy Bebop cameo. Because Sheridan mocked Sheppard.
5. Not a World of Magic Shows - BSG (Kara/Anders, Cally/Chief). I want more fic with Kara and the Chief. Sigh. But. Anyway. This is Kara being emo, and New Caprica being kinda shitty, and Chief getting her drunk. And advice. And I love it, because it's not perfect and it's not easy.
Runners-up: Every Kara/Anders fic I've ever written. Most of my Sam/Jack fic. Inadmissable and Evidence, the Weir/Sheppard duology.
Er... I tag. um. Everyone? (I'm lazy.) eta: ...*eyes copy/paste*
ETA2: Am less lazy. If you haven't been tagged before (and you're just reading this), I tag:
cosmic,
cynjen,
skellingtonjon,
woodface,
cherryice, and
nique (yes, there is a theme).
