Work, thoughts, killings...

So, at work today, something completely and utterly shocked me. A co-worker had nothing to do her last hour and a half. So she sat around and twiddled her thumbs. Instead of, say, asking if anyone else had work she could do...

Perhaps I was raised with a different work ethic, but to me? Being paid for doing nothing is stupid. And pointless. And, in my case, fucks my self-esteem very very badly.

I had stuff to do, but then, I am a pedantic whore.

Walked home tonight. One of the places I walk by now is the last-resort apartment Shai and I looked into. It's... Not even a mile from where we are now, and the whole area has such a different flavour.

It's crap, to put it mildly.

A horrible, scrawny little hole-in-the-wall place that we'd have been trying to get out of within a week. Short ceilings, wall-wall carpets... It was fabulously ugly. Exposed pipes in the ceiling!

I shudder when I walk by.

I have a question, mainly because it's been way too long.. but. Anyway, when did Carter start doing drugs? I know it was after Lucy died, but I'm not clear on the time frame. Was he back at work by then, or not?
