dangling by a thread....
Jan. 2nd, 2004 08:17 pmGah.
Y'know, I like some of the people I work with. But none of them have a fucking clue. You'd think ANY of the two people there WHO ARE IN FUCKING CHARGE would be able to tell me, "Yes, you're supposed to be doing this."
I swear, they have no organisation at Northwestern Mutual. Stay away!
There's also some stupid rule about not working through lunch even if you feel sicker than a dog and would like to leave early... Fuck HR. We don't have a break, but we HAVE to take lunch? That's such bullshit.
So, yes. I spent about eight hours of pointless time feeling sick to my stomach and not leaving work.
Sorry. Eight and a half.
Because even though I didn't leave the area, or eat, I still had to STAY there.
Fuckers.
Part of the reason I'm so confused is that Wednesday was the last day for a whole slew of temps. But no one knew if I was staying.
No one, still, apparently, knows.
In other news, we barely made rent--thanks to my parents. If, y'know, the phone system or the 'net had been working on Monday, I might've had a bit more cash. But, no. It wasn't. Phone system at Manpower, that is.
And Shai's final pay still isn't in.
*distracted* Pirate.
Mmmm. Scruffy pirate.
And I watched the entire first series of Touching Evil last night. So good to get back to my, er, roots. And everyone is so innocent! I can't wait until series three has been viewed.
Also? I have notes. For a Touching Evil/Red Cap crossover. Much... Creegan abuse, Hippy abuse... Yes. Yes there is.
Hrm. Neve and Susan should go out for drinks with Jo.
I'm tempted to have Jo know Creegan--through Kerry, I'm thinking. Perhaps a friend of a friend, or something. Just so there can be something like...
"Well, if it isn't little Jo McDonough."
The blonde turned and blinked, her lips twitching. "Ah. Dave Creegan. I heard about Kerry. Shame she had to leave you."
Or something like that...
