Used my gift card to Borders. Got some Pratchett, and two of the Farscape books. I'm in the middle of David Bischoff's "Ship of Ghosts", and can safely say that he needs a god-damn editor. Half the story is taken up with a pointless Crais Mary Sue who was Aeryn's Bestest Friend, and is now her Mortal Enemy.

...yeah.

The other half is not so bad, even when the characters don't quite sound right. Or he writes too much of Rygel. Dude, enough with the slimy freak.

Apparently, it was co-written with someone. Martha Bayliss.

Three guesses who created Sha Sutt, Crais's Most Loyal Captain. And the first two don't count.

He also has one or two continuity problems. The biggest one so far being when he has it set. Since Moya isn't pregnant, it's before "They've Got a Secret". However, D'Argo has mentioned his son. Whom no one knows about UNTIL TGaS. This could have been *very* easily fixed. But they didn't care enough, apparently.

We'll see if it continues to amuse... I have wanted to throw popcorn, and mocked it. Mocked it a lot.

It's still not bad.

Amusingly enough, the cashier at Borders was also a big Farscape fan. The only he hasn't seen is "...Different Destinations". *eg* I'm now tempted to stalk him. Sadly, he's probably taken. (there aren't enough Farscape fans in St. Louis I can talk to. Damnit.)

There aren't ANY that I want to talk to, really. Except him.

Hrm.

What a perfect line for my mood.

So. Last night, my brother calls. He asks for my parents, I tell him they've gone to the movies. Oh, says he, well, have them call me.

And that's it.

Assuming it wasn't important (everyone's coming over for my sister-in-law's birthday today), I promptly forgot. Besides, mom and dad came home disgusted with 'Once Upon a Time in Mexico'. They're not violence fans. (I did try to warn them... Sigh)

This morning, I awaken to my mother informing me that I'm an Aunt again. My new niece was born at 7:50 this morning.

Which means that Gabe wanted to tell them that Vicky was in labor. But didn't see fit to TELL ME THIS FACT. Apparently, I'm good enough as a message service. But not to trust with things like that.

Well, fuck. I feel so much better.

That was sarcasm.

We're still having everyone over today for food. Just without three people (four, now).

So I'm online, to fortify myself, so that I don't say anything snarky.
