heavenly oversights...
Mar. 30th, 2003 11:46 amI dreamt of Farscape. Possibly all night. It wasn't just the bits from 2.2--there were also overtones of 2.1, and just random mental insanity. Crais was there, for instance. And Aeryn. And... Talyn, too, I think.
My brain, I could be wrong, attempted to create the next episodes, including the one where we end up with two Crichtons. (which is... season three? Hrm. My brain is just all wacky) It was.... very odd.
Was reading a site yesterday that mentioned how Farscape was very insular--if you haven't seen every episode, you're lost. And to that, I have to mock. Heavily mock. Because the fourth season grabbed me by the short and curlies, and I caught almost everything I was supposed to (Timey and AJ explained the Karen thing. ;). Yes, I'd seen one or two others (premiere, Crackers..).
And now I'm jumping into the second season, having missed most of the first... And I'm still getting it.
I love this show. Really. It grabbed my brain, shoook it, said, "Watch me!" and... I have. Not to mention the fact that the actors are VERY good in it. The nuances are just wonderful. (Bringing Home the Beacon being a prime example...)
Having moved the dvd/vcr and tv in here, I have made sounds. This is good. I also watched some of series 3 of Touching Evil. And. My god, I'd forgotten how good it was (or maybe it's just been too long) and heart-wrenching. And, of course, the Taylor and Creegan interplay is interesting. Perhaps I'm catching more as well (Aeryn and John's fault, I think), but there's a lot of very subtle things that... Eh. I'm such a hopeless romantic at heart.
But it is a great show (TE), with just as much nuance, if not more fucked in the headedness as Farscape (yes, I watched the neurotic shows...). I mean... Dave and John could run Neurotic Paranoics Anonymous.
"Look, I know there's a thin line between genius and madness, but you don't have to show them which side we're on." -- Taylor, to Creegan.
Taylor, honey, the man is less cracked than you.
Which. Anyway. He's a bad bad influence on people. And I think I need to go let the dog in. Later.
