So. I've done it. After much dithering, I've reserved my tickets for Gally. Yay. Now I get to drive up to the airport and pay for them. Not so yay, but I shall survive. If I can find my sunglasses.
Wrote some Marya last night. Frustrated, because she's being recalcitrant. Ended up writing a bit of Marya and Alryssa's Robin in Subreality. God help Subreality.
Christmas tree!
We have a REAL tree! *squeals*!
This is how it works (it's been, like, 14 years...). When we lived in Florida, the 30 bucks for a tree was too expensive (Christmas was rarely a big affair), so mom finally broke down one year,and we bought a fake tree for, like 14 bucks.
So we used it. Even after we'd moved to St. Louis, where trees might have been less expensive. And when that fake tree started losing too many pieces, we bought another fake one.
Well. This year, mom decided it was time to change.
And we have a real tree downstairs, glittering with lights! And some ornaments. Not many, though. Mom also culled ornaments this year...
So. Life is minorly spiffy.
I start my new job tomorrow. Henceforth, I will only be a member of the 'cafe/dwc night crews on Fridays and Saturdays, for I will be doing icky things. Like getting up at 6am, and going to bed at 12:30am. Hopefully, once I've done this once, I can adjust accordingly, but... Yeesh. It might kill me.
The county job pays more. But if the Christmas bonus crap comes through at the PC, I could clean up well. Cross your fingers that I will, that's rent money, gift money, and Gally money. And probably car insurance money, too.
