Stupid email things
Aug. 5th, 2002 03:09 amI received this piece of shit for the second time earlier today. And decided, that, hey, I could deal with it one of two ways. I could mock it, or I could ignore it. Or, I could mock it and deconstruct the 'suggestions' made by the author, a God-Fearing Christian Person. Whatever the fuck that means.

Can you dig it? A fwd of a fwd. And it's a smiley face. Definitely a sign that to follow will be something NOT worth reading. It becomes more apparent, once you read this piece of 'opinion'.

think has been on every American's mind!!!!! This is an editorial written by an American citizen, published in a local newspaper.
I feel so sorry for the editor of that paper. To have to publish the following must have worried his or her heart.
>"IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT!!"
Yes, because Americans are so unadaptable. Dude, thanks for pointing that out. Stagnation Rulez!
>I am tired of this nation worrying
about whether we are offending some individual or their culture, here in the USA. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. >
Here's where it begins to really irritate. For instance, that 'surge of patriotism'? Boring. Over with. Done. People stopped caring about this nation 200 years ago. The only reason the flag is waved is to 'unite' everyone, and make us fight for some stupid cause so rich people can make more money. Of course, the fact that it's immigrants, slaves, servants, and a few surviving members of the original people who lived on this continent doesn't apparently affect anything.
And, wow. A few things I need to understand. Since, y'know, I was born here.
>This idea of America, being a multi -cultural community, has served only to
dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our
own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This
culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. >
You will be assimilated! Yes! Join the Army! Live Life To The Fullest! Fuck Your Mother! Still reading the slogans? Diluted my ass. We stole our language from a half a dozen other countries. NOTHING is original.
>We speak ENGLISH,
No. We speak American. British people speak English.
>not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any
other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn
the language! ENGLISH. >
After all, for someone who is in a new country, and trying to find a job. And probably ending up scrubbing toilets for four dollars a day, it can't be that hard.
Oh. Wait. I forgot! It's actually very SIMPLE to learn a new language at the same time that you're trying to get a job, and survive in a new country! You just *snap* your fingers. And, voila! A new language is learned, and you have the key to being a down-trodden citizen of a republic that's crumbling!
>"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not
some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because
Christian men and women, of Christian principles, founded this nation, and
this is clearly documented. >
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!
Bull. Shit. This country was started by men who considered one thing. Whether they could make more money out from under the thumb of England. 'God' was just a useful way of pulling in the common people, and making them agree.
Hello? Slavery? Ring any bells? 'Cause, yeah, keeping slaves is SO Christian.
>It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is and always will be part of our culture. >
Uh, yeah. Whatever. I like how not a single effort is made to explain how you can leave this country with any sort of ease. I mean, take Canada. If you want to live there, you must first get a job there. And to get a job, you have to live there. And to live there, you have to have a job there. And the people hiring you (since you're coming from America) have to *prove* that the job you're filling could NOT be filled by ANY citizen in Canada.
Easy. Yeah.
>If the Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you
should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy
with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how
you did things where you came from. Remember, "Delta is ready when you are
and they can have you there by nightfall". >
Our culture. Our stagnating culture. Delta is really one of the more expensive airlines, however, and my previous information on the 'ease' of leaving this country is up there.
In all honesty, though, I really don't get it. Do people just assume it's that simple? You're out of work and living on the street, and you can just hop on a plane and.... do the same thing in another country. Or, better yet, start selling drugs in America. Much more cost effective.
Maybe some day the rich people will all overdose on the drugs I sell them.
That was sarcasm. Hello?
>This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. >
No. Your lifestyle. There is no 'our'. I'm not some fucking robot to be given orders.
>Our First Amendment gives
every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every
opportunity to do so. >
How very kind of you. *heavy sarcasm*
>But, once you are done complaining, whining, and
griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom,
THE RIGHT TO LEAVE. >
Do I have to explain this again? Why don't YOU leave and save the rest of the nation the trouble? Then the loudmouthed assholes who will never understand what it's like to have to beg for money, work a job that leaves you so full of self-hate you contemplate suicide, or exhaust yourself, can start their own little Elite God-Fearing Country.
Maybe we'll blow them up.
>If you agree with this message, pass it on . If you don't agree, pass it on
anyway. What the heck! This is AMERICA, after all!
>
And you're still in it, sadly.

All threats aside, things like this PISS ME OFF. Because it does one thing--it passes on this insidious little 'us against them' mentality and prejudice that makes it very difficult for there to be true peace, anywhere. Because if we can't all tolerate each other in America, how soon is the whole world going to blow up?
I like explosions.

And, yes. I did send it as typed up there. I sent it to every single person that got it.
Heheheheh.
