Hrm.

This is the fault of the ShepWeir list.
But is not ShepWeir, for a surprise... I am so mentally drained. Oo. Home soon.

He was sure it would be different, this time.

The planning had been flawless, the courtship carefully orchestrated, and she seemed to really like him. For himself.

And her voice was different, the timbre just that much richer, the figure slightly lusher, the hair... Well, she'd had it blonde for a while, but he mentioned that he preferred brunettes and so she went back.

She was more dignified that way.

He'd been so careful never to talk about technology, or to mock her planet. Or even to hint that he could. Played that slight bit stupid when programming the VCR and changing the channel. And she'd thought it was cute.

But he must have been wrong. Maybe he tried too hard, maybe the occasional jocular commentary on hockey had tipped her off. Maybe... maybe he simply wasn't loveable.

There should have been some warning.

There should have been something about this new diplomatic mission she was on that would tip him off. That would wave a red flag and say "Here! Here is where it's gonna happen, buddy!"

He really wished his inner voice didn't sound so much like Colonel O'Neill.

Because it had happened.

She had left him.

Elizabeth Weir had left him. Just as Samantha Carter had.

And Narim (now calling himself Simon Beauvais) wondered just what it WAS with Earth women that they left the stable ones and strived for something different.

Perhaps it was a something more.

He always thought it was less.

Oh no! If she's a friend of yours and you feel like it, you could direct her toward the livejournal community -- it's a bit tamer (but you can bill it as "more on-topic." Or if you want to let me know who she is, I can do it, since I can perhaps better resist the urge to mock ;)

I dunno who the fuck she even is. But clearly omg NOT GOOD ENOUGH for us.

Though, err, we should maybe try to be a wee bit more on-topic overall. *shame*

Heh. Yeah. Maybe. Else we be injuring the people who don't know they can go nomail.

I owe fic to the list (just the stuff I posted to the LJ community) -- it'll be up once it's beta'd and titled.

Plus it'll be easier to be on-topic once we have, you know, more episodes to talk about.

Word on the lack of canon. Maybe we should... I dunno... talk about where we think they're going with Teyla and Shepwhore? And how that affects the OTP omg?
