sff: other tvs, the it is really saturday morning edition

Motive 1x9: SURPRISE ALESSANDRO JULIANI. Otherwise, a solid episode. (Angiiiieeee. sigh. she is hot and amazing)

Elementary 1x19: MS. HUDSON. I didn't even think that they'd ever bring her in, and THERE SHE IS. (and apparently, she's trans?) PAM was amazing, too. And I liked the silliness of the mystery. Mostly, though, I liked Jooooan and Sherlock's investigation. Though I sort of wish Joan had had more discoveries? BUT ON THAT NOTE. Unf, Detective Bell. With his smarts and his brains. So hot. AND THE SNOW. so silly, but fun

Person of Interest 2x19: Sometimes, I wish I liked m/m slash. Because then I could happily read all the fic in this fandom. But I don't. Instead, I like f/f and het, and there is NO WAY that this fandom will actually produce the reams of Root/Sam Shaw fi that it would write if they were dudes. SAM SHAW IS GOING HUNTING ROOT. That is like a gift from the gods in terms of setups.

Meanwhile, I want to feel more surprised about Beecher, but I can't. His whole arc feels sort of pointless. Although now Carter has 'lost' someone close to her. Now Fusco just needs to have a loss...

I really liked Monica, too. And I hope that they bring her back as a recurring tech helper.

Scott & Bailey 3x1: way to make me not want to go to bed yet, show. Ew. But aside from that one bit of shock-factor, I really liked how the show dealt with the aspects of Nicola Walker's character. It made me a little sick to my stomach, because it wasn't "Let's parade all the abuse in words and flashbacks" it was all in body language and tone, and the silences. and ugh.

And Janet's face at the end, that little SMIRK, holy shit, Janet. <3

Although I'm not sure how I feel about suddenly-married Rachel (although Janet's mum telling her she needs a wife, and Rachel being all "can I bunk with you?" at Janet made me ship it still). Hopefully, even though I've no real interest in Dom, the next episode will deal with that lurking cess pool of stupid, not to mention Rachel's random marriage.

It's so rare to see trans characters on TV. Well done, Elementary!

It is! And I'm glad there wasn't any of that wink-wink/nudge-nudge stuff that always happens.

Re: Scott & Bailey, I think the random marriage will make more sense after the next ep - am hoping it will, anyway, since the ads for next week's ep are hinting at it.

I'm just so intrigued to see what's going to happen when we get back to the pre-eight months earlier thing with Gill in the car! Can't wait for them to hurry up and get the eight months out of the way so we can get back to the present!

I'm sure it will. i just. Rachel never really struck me as the marrying type--but then again, I think that's what she was expecting with Nick Savage (and look how that turned out, eh). And I don't really like Sean much (at least, I don't find him interesting...)

BUT YES. I can't wait for the next episode. (I am so so so glad this show is back. *hugs it*)

I'm loving Elementary. Though I have to admit to not really knowing anything about Sherlock Holmes. Is Mrs. Hudson supposed to be Sherlock's housekeeper? Pam was awesome. She'll give Joan a ride home but Sherlock has to walk. Bwah. Now I need Pam gets sucked into detective work fic.

And Person of Interest! I've had a crush on the show (CARTER!) for a while, but now I'm loving all the secondary characters. Where is all the Leon, Zoe, and/or Shaw fic? HMMMM? Of course it is all boy slash. Blerg. Let me know when you have your Shaw and Root fic done. ;)

Mrs. Hudson is the landlady in the original canon, also the housekeeper iirc.

Pam needs to show up always.

PoI fandom continues to disappoint, sadly. Boyslashers ruin everything, in my experience (I cannot even stand the main fandom comm)

Um, also, I haven't been writing lately. Like, at all. So your wait is possibly going to be forever.

I'm behind on Elementary, so I can't read that section, but it has been a delightfully pleasant surprise for me this season.

Oh, Beecher. I think the writers flubbed more than a bit with him. I wanted to like him, and to feel something about his death, but...

Monica was great. She and Shaw should have a women-only PoI spinoff. (This is not my original idea, but I endorse it.)

Beecher. :/ sigh. I think you said it in your review, if it hadn't been for that one time where they had him be all scary/controlling... Well, ok, also, his godfather. I didn't like that relationship, either (and I'm trying to tell myself that Joss was lying to him by omission, too. But it doesn't work because I know her more, and she is my hero, and Beecher... wasn't. And it's not the "I ship her with Reese" thing, because while I do, I just... Beecher would have been nice to like more)

Instead, I will think happy thoughts about the episode being a sneaky backdoor pilot where Monica will have her own spinoff with Shaw and possibly Root along for the ride.
