that's why we get along

1. Dragoncon came and went, and was generally a blast. I'm getting old, though. No 3 am nights for me. I went to a couple of panels, and encountered a "but there were no 'good' white people in Rosa! It sucked!" whiner in the wild during the Doctor Who fan panel. (so painful, that entire panel, but that was a stand-out moment where NO ONE rebutted this dude). Freema & Catherine Tate were there and entertaining at their panel. Tried to see some of the Farscape panels (they were supposed to broadcast them), but the audio was completely screwed.

2. AO3 won a Hugo Award, which seemed to be fine. Until oldskool fans decided that it was AWFUl, AWFUL, they tell you, that people were devaluing it by saying their tentacle porn fic on AO3 won a Hugo Award! The over-blown wank has been the gift that keeps on fucking giving. I don't know that I ever held the Hugo Award in much esteem, but the defenders of its sanctity and holy divinity have certainly made me consider it little more than a rocket-shaped dildo.

3. Which we still won. For writing tentacle porn. (check fanlore for more links)

4. Fic Round-up for August:
BBC Sherlock: At the Risk of Falling (Off Roofs) - Molly/Sherlock, AU where they are spies in competing agencies. It was a lot of fun to write.
BSG: BSG Ficlets - Mostly Kara-related. Friendship and gen. I'm going to do a Kara/Sam one at some point, but most of the ficlets I have for them are half-assed unfinished things.

5. Grim Tales released some new games which I broke down and grabbed. The Nomad ends up with Anna re-writing history for teenage delinquents, so they... do not become gang members. A bit on the iffy side. The Guest From the Future was excellently ridiculous bad fanfic tropes (Anna's teenage daughter from the future needs her help saving everyone!), which has a final level where you literally mind-wipe the bad guy so he doesn't fall in love and cause death and destruction.

6. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised. This is the series where Anna's dead father who tried to murder her and her sister (and did murder her twin sisters before she was born), comes back as a skull who sasses at her a lot and is kind of an asshole. (Richard has, unfortunately, grown on me like a creeping mold. And at least he has a personality, unlike Dorian Black, her husband)

(TBF to Dorian, though, it's not like Luisa's husband, son, or grandson aren't all more than whiny idiots who never seem to learn "Do NOT TOUCH THE THING. IT WILL KILL YOU. OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE.". At least Dorian only whined that time his portrait was destroyed)

7. The Secret Order also put out Shadow Breach and Return to the Buried Kingdom. I actually liked Shadow Breach, but Return was a bit eh. Also, Sarah's friend Julie must be a telepath in a former life as she keeps getting possessed.

8. Big Finish released The Further Adventures of Lucie Bleeding Miller, and they are excellent. Amazing and fun and silly and heart-wrenching and there's LITERALLY A MOMENT in The Dalek Trap where I was like "OMG FU, Nick." for something Lucie said that was like being punched. And also, they got the SOUNDS from earlier DW eras, and it was EEEEEeeee-inducing, because I did so love that episode (and also, the writer fully admits Island is a riff off Wicker Man). Ahem. Anyway, if you're looking for something short and quick and fun, this is a good one to grab.

Fic round up, January & March, and April

I live. I suppose. Anyway, fic round up for the last couple months:
January:
BBC Sherlock - To Catch a Fly With Vinegar - Molly/Sherlock, Abominable Bride fic. Mostly an excuse for sort-of-hate-sex between them.

February:
I managed not to post anything, apparently? Eh.

March:
BBC Sherlock - Sunlight Breezes At The End of All Things (Or the Beginning) - Molly/Sherlock/Moriarty death fic. I mean. They're dead and she's about to die. And there's ghosts. Mostly, it was an excuse to write something fluffy about the end of life.

April:
Grim Tales game series: No More Variations - Anna Gray, at the end of the world.

I've been writing, I just haven't really managed to finish anything. Maybe I can guilt myself into it? Eh.

(I suppose I should wait to post April until May? Except MEC is soon)

Games-wise, I've gotten through all but the latest Grim Tales game (multiple times). And House of 1000 Doors (Family Secrets, Palm of Zororwhatever, and the dragon one). And a couple others.

Tried one of the Nancy Drew games, but I think it requires more concentration than I usually give games. I'll play it eventually. I hope. It would be silly to have it and not play, after all.

Played Sacra Terra: Angelic Night a couple more times (it's the seven deadly sins in an insane asylum, I feel no one should be surprised I like it).

RL-wise. Eh. Work has been work.

And there was snow. ideky. Stupid weather.

I'm not sure I even like Decembers anymore

So. The holiday is over, yay. I spent most of it sick (and am still sick). And part of it at my parents (and I still had a ridiculous number of vacation days. I need to take those this year).

December fic round-up:
- Doctor Who: Things We Do Without Blankets - Yasmin/Thirteen. This was technically written in November for the femslash kink meme. Prompt was public sex.

- X-Men/Phonogram: I Don't Care What This Song's About - Kitty Pryde/Silent Girl ficlet. Me prompting myself to cross over anything and staring at my trades and going "Kitty/Silent Girl would be hot".

- X-Men comics: Non-Typical Uses of a Desk and the Sex That Results - circa '98. Jean/Scott smutty marriedness.

- BBC Sherlock: Divine Daydreams of Midwinter Chaos - Sherlock/Molly/Moriarty ficlets. The only three so far were for my rarepair bingo card. And mostly domestic fluff.

I do not have an official wordcount for the month (and I know I wrote one ficlet on tumblr that is... buried somewhere in a file of miscellaneous crap), but that is due to forgetting things at work and the holiday and just generally not having the time. Also, seriously. Writing porn around my parents. :/ Not happening.

And so November ends.

Thank god.

Not that I wanted it to, because, seriously, I don't want it to be December. BUT. I feel like November dragggged. And this week back after the four-day weekend (which was after a three-day work week and three-day weekened before it) was just. ugh. So long. So dull. ish.

Tumblr is apparently pulling its own version of Strikethrough (my reaction is pretty much the same: it doesn't impact me in the slightest and I give no fucks).

It has meant another friending meme in the wild, though, for those who are looking for one: https://snickfic.dreamwidth.org/667727.html

My official total for the month of November is 19,750 words. That includes edits added and subtracted, new fic, ficlets, stuff that is going to probably never amount to anything, and a lot of Molly Hooper/Sherlock Holmes porn/fic.

Fic posted this month:

- Doctor Who: mouth is alive with juices like wine - Clara Oswald bangs David Warner (ahem), Professor Grisenko from Cold War. I started this fic a billion years ago and found it while looking for something else, finished it up and posted it. It's PWP.

- Doctor Who: Holding Your Brave and Tattered Tiny Horses - Dalek Oswin travels with the War Doctor. Shenanigans. I really enjoyed writing this one, and it's a bit ridiculous and timey wimey and just fun. At least, I thought it was. Most of it was written prior to November.

- Sherlock: Worms From Space - it's future!fic that is basically a bad SciFi Friday night movie that borrows heavily from Pern (not the dragons, though) and adds in ridiculously named children (teens) and super-powers. Because I enjoy over-egging the pudding. Pairing is Molly/Sherlock.

I do still plan to do ficlet collections, I just... stalled with writing things and cataloguing (the crossovers file has 83 items so far - some of them are absolutely awful, ngl). I also cleared so much non-fic out of my files. It's terrible, what a pack-rat I am.

Is there a ficlets'n'drabbles anonymous?

Because, Internet, I think I have a problem.

I've been trying to organize as I'm the most redundant of pack rats. I'm not even a third of the way through the 'ficlets' folder, which is literally a mass of text files with bits and pieces of ficlets sometimes divided into fandoms. I have made it a goal to list the contents of the files (and have enlisted a spreadsheet as they are my friends). So far, there are 203 ficlets recorded. Some are posted! So that's good.

But many aren't. Or aren't finished.

It's a good thing I can (probably) make more ficlet collections on AO3. Though how I'll manage the crossovers...

This has been a fairly productive month for posting fic. Most of the output being Sherlock (and Molly/Sherlock). The non-Sherlock:
- Scott & Bailey ficlets - I found one aside from the 5 Weddings... one that I could post, and thus, there is now a ficlet stash for S&B on AO3. Janet/Rachel is the one pairing so far.

- Spooks Bits'n'Pieces - As with the above, I had a 'weddings' ficlet that needed posting. I also had a bunch of other random ficlets that weren't anywhere. Ros/Adam is the wedding one. Most of them are Jo and Ros and angst.

- In the Place Where We Don't Belong - Doctor Who, Rose/Thirteen. It got mentioned on tumblr and my brain exploded. I always did have a thing for blondes, ok.

I also added an old porn battle fic (Alice/Duchess from Syfy's Alice) to the PB IX collection (that was eight frakking years ago. WHAT.)

And the Sherlock:
- Clever to Fall Apart Completely - Molly/Sherlock porn shenanigans.
- Through Every Torn Curtain is Burning Violins - Molly/Sherlock end of the worl means dancing on beds, right? fic.
- The Sun Doesn't Shine Forever - Sherlock kills Tom fic (well, sort of). Basically, the idea was mentioned on tumblr, and it's not like I don't have a history of murdering unwanted fiances (poor Pete Shanahan, it's not his fault he wasn't quite right for Sam--that would be Vala). I'm actually wishing I'd waited and also gone with the darker idea I'd had (Sherlock kills all of Molly's boyfriends for her)
- Artless Words Spoken in the Quiet Dark - Molly/Sherlock, post-series 4/episode insert to The Final Problem fic.
- Sherlock ficlets and drabbles - mostly an excuse not to write full-length fic. One of them is That Time Sherlock Was a Werewolf.
- Veils of Memory Infected With Dreams - Molly/Sherlock established marriage. But mostly an excuse for writing Molly stuck in a creeepy foggy forest.

And now I shall put myself to bed. At least it's Thursday tomorrow.

It's not fair that I think you're really mean

1. I live! Mostly.

2. I wrote a Sherlock ficlet (I know, what is the world coming to), but it's mostly Mary trolling Sherlock, as she does. (guys, I love Mary, ok. I can't even articulate how much, but I do). Arrested Perambulations of a Confused and Almost Offended Nature (aka, Mary's trolling makes Sherlock stop pacing and sulk)

2a. Seriously. "Fibbing, Sherlock." is possible one of my favorites lines. (people may hate series 3, but Sign of Three is so fun)

3. I was trying to remember how much fic I've written with children and/or babies in it, and have come to the terrifying conclusion that the only baby!fic I've written has been: Cally/Travis and Iris Wildthyme/The Rani. Probably. (I seem to recall the kids popping up a lot in Kara Thrace/Sam Anders RP with Lucy, but that is not published nor readable at this remove.)

3a. It is possible I will have to review my own fic. (it's not my fault I wrote a lot of porn, ok)

3b. Although I think I have Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill adopt kids fic unfinished somewhere (Thor-caused children).

4. This week can be over now, I am done with it.

5. It is very disappointing how Walgreens has gotten rid of almost all the Wet'n'Wild makeup (especially the nail polish). Where the hell am I supposed to get my cheap cosmetics now? *sulk*

6. I tried to be an adult and take all my posters down, but I just ended up going, "MY WALLS ARE SO EMPTY NO" and simply moving some of them around/changing the layouts. Also, I finally pulled all the autographed photos off the wall. Now there's actual art prints up. SO MANY UNICORNS. I am still a thirteen year-old girl sometimes (THEY ARE SPARKLY, TOO)

6a. And dragons. At least three. Also, the Nene Thomas print. (Moonlight Silver - it's one of my favorite color combinations)

6b. In Action Figure Theatre news, Boomer is still happily galloping across the wastes of the top of my bookshelf clinging to Dane (the Black Knight) as they both ride the purple-sparkly-antlered reindeer. I'm sure the reindeer had a name at one point, but I don't remember it. (Boomer is basically like "...the frak did I sign up for this sword and sorcery bullshit." and Dane is like "You're entertainingly bitter, we should get along famously.")

we're being attacked by statues on a crashed ship

YOu GUYS. Like, I keep not skipping when Amy's Choice plays at work, and I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS about season five because of it. And I miss Eleven and the Ponds due to that fact. ANYWAY. (and then I backtrack to end of Eleventh Hour because waiting hurts and then I skip to the middle of Venice because I'd forgotten HOW ANGRY HE WAS--and it's the anger he has in the Dalek episode, too)

I keep minimizing everything to stare at my desktop (because I have feelings about the women on it, and I miss them and also don't want to tempt fate by reading their comics right now, I mean, aside from the Marvels.)

ANYWAY. Someone told me Gail Simone is going to write a Domino limited series. And Timey didn't even have to sacrifice any small children!

I foresee more desktops in my future.

I managed to produce two ficlets for fandom stocking! I produced my requisite two fics for the year and it's not even the third week in Jan! Go, me.

And now, a tiny tiny (probably the Guy Ritchie movies Sherlock Holmes version) Irene Adler(/Mary Morstan) ficlet. It is technically from 2017.

ficlet: untitled random Clara, John and Sherlock conversation (Doctor Who/Sherlock)

Disclaimer: not mine
Fandoms: Doctor Who, Sherlock
Characters: Clara, Sherlock, John
Length: short (600 words)
Spoilers: Er, none, really, but season 3 for Sherlock.
Set: after Day of the Doctor; during His Last Vow
Notes: the problem with listening to bits and pieces of His Last Vow whilst previously listening to bits of Day of the Doctor is when the syntax/conversations meld into each other. Resulting in the following. And no, it really isn't anything but a bit of ridiculous fluff.
