Heh. I've always been inordinately proud of:

"Practicing her kegels like a good little post-modern feminist who's in tune with her sexuality." from Lovefool.

I have many as I'm your adoring fan of great love and clinginess

1) How long have you been writing fanfiction?
2) You write a lot of porn. What's your favorite moment to write in your porn fics?
3) ....CRAP have to run, more questions later..

[identity profile] liminalliz.livejournal.com 2005-03-30 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
BACK!
3) What's your top favorite three fics that you've written?
4) What character do you enjoy the most when you write him/her?
5) What character has always bothered you because you can't get properly into his/her head?

3. ...er, right now, off the top of my head. 'Delineations of Light and Shadow After Midnight', 'Reflexive Impulse', and 'The Whole Story'. (X-Files, SG-1, and X-Women)
4. Sam. Which is probably because I let her be more like her father and Jack (sarcastic and bitchy). Second's probably Kitty Pryde (who is Sam, but more computer-geeky. If they ever meet, the world might implode)
5. Daniel, to some extent. Charles Xavier, because I can't get past the fact that I think he's a manipulative son of a bitch. Teal'c, definitly, because he's almost a blank slate in my head (although this season has REALLY helped, as did The Changeling). And there have been others who I just have been like, "I have no idea why they do this." *stark incomprehension*

*gah*

1. Since, ah... *counts back (I feel old now)* 1998, with brief forays before, and I had a Mary Sue in my head for YEARS that I never actually wrote down.
2. Oh, god. Um... *smut hussy* The visual that drives the whole piece. Oh, wait. Erm. Probably the setup, mostly. Hands in new places and fingers and tongues...

Who is the one author (and yes, you only get one:)), whose work always leaves you inspired and wanting to push yourself to make your writing more like that (and, mind you, I'm not saying your writing needs any work at all, just that every writer has something they personally aspire to:)). And--which one of your stories, for you, comes the closest to being what you really want to be able to write (or maybe you're ahead of me, and it's EXACTLY what you want to write *g*).

*goes to stare at her bookshelf*

ok (and because there's no way in hell to pick just ONE fanfic author who's been fabulous and influenced me, and while I want to marry Paul Abbott and steal his writing talent, it's not quite the same), having stared thoughtfully at my bookshelf, I keep coming back to Carla Kelly.

Yes, she writes Regency Romances. Yes, it's a sub-genre of a section of fiction that isn't particularly considered literary. But she's utterly fabulous and draws incredible pictures with words and can make you laugh, cry, scream, ache and love with careful words and... Gah. She's incredible.

As for fic I was really happy with... gah. Erm. There are a lot that I'm perfectly happy with. Right at the moment, I'm really really happy with 'Reflexive Impulse', because I made choices when crafting the lines (I feel so pompous) that turned it out the way it is. *cough* I'm not sure if this has ever been noted, but I happen to have a ravingly large ego that occasionally needs smacking.

Waaayyyyy late... Never properly thanked you for replying to this. I really enjoyed your answer. This kind of stuff just fascinates me.:) Regencies!?!????:D Never would have guessed that one...*g*

And I'm not sure if I've read 'Reflexive Impulse' (I'm so bad with titles...). Or maybe that's the one where...hmmm...Must go check...

Thanks again!

Er. In my head, mostly. Espcially if I'm stressed, or have way too many things to do. That's when my brain wants to write and comes up with fifty different ideas.

Sigh.

Why Jack/Pete?

Oh, and does the SPAM in your fic post titles mean anything (beyond the blindingly obvious)?

Oh, god... Erm, lemme dig out the original post first...

Hokay. Now, the true beginning is when I was joking with, er, Rysler, I think. And made an icon that was Jack/Pete 'because they can't have Daniel' which led to me writing Daniel/Pete. At some point, nos' prodded me to write Jack/Pete as it would be wrong. And then Canth wanted more and at the end of that, I had the Wedding Night bit so *clear* in my head that I knew I'd eventually write it.

SCAM, actually. Show Comic/Cartoon Anime Movie, basically, "What fandom am I writing for?" and I did it because, well, actually, it was in the faq for ficpr0n4u.

[identity profile] liminalliz.livejournal.com 2005-03-30 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I always wondered about the SCAM thing too. Yay!

I think I remember that...

Dude, you could do SO MUCH social analyzing with the old Who because of the times it was written in. omg..

You may be able to find some at Lackluster. Luckily, they're all pretty standalone, so you can watch just about any episode without needing tons of backstory. ;)

[identity profile] nakedtoes.livejournal.com 2005-03-31 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
OK. Did you write smutfic from the very beginning and if not, what prompted the first one?
ext_18106: (Kitty Pete java love)

[identity profile] lyssie.livejournal.com 2005-03-31 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I didn't. In fact, I clearly remember, back in the beginning, saying that I didn't write smut and as I had no experience, I wasn't ever planning to.

Oh, God. I think Luba Kmetyk was begging people for smutty Kitty and Pete fic, and I decided to try my hand, and I've always *liked* rainstorms as there's that marvelous tactile quality to them. It... isn't even as bad as it could have been, though I'm not going to say it's fantastic. *g*
