Domino drabble
Disclaimer: not mine, blah.
Rating: eh. PG.
set: Current Cable & Deadpool canon, pretty much. Just, uh, not exactly.
Notes: for the 'friction' challenge I posted to the Domino Sanctum mailing list. I did mention that it didn't have to include friction in any way, shape or form. It was simply MY starting point -- or rather, the first line about oiling the barrel was my starting point.
She should have oiled the barrel (she should have done a lot of things, but the barrel would have counted as significant). It would have gleamed in the early morning sunlight, catching stray light, allowing the eye to catch a twinkle from the corner.
The bullet wouldn't have struck true, she knows. He's a god-damn telekinetic. He can do anything.
Or maybe she has too much faith in God and man. Or not enough faith in anything at all.
Now it's Nathan's blood that gleams as the sun rises; Fury's paycheck in her pocket.
She should have oiled the barrel.
