It usually takes about six stiff drinks before he lets his hair down enough to even consider it. And even then, he doesn't vocalize it, doesn't say exactly what he remembers as memories run through his head.
Scattered images are parading by at drink eight. Golden halls that seem to stretch on forever, cold water that buried people deep. Drink nine brings on the dancing horses.
And unbidden comes the picture of Samantha Carter soaking wet. She had almost died (along with Colonel O'Neill), and Paul Davis (through the alcohol) thinks that would have been a great loss to humanity.
