Never got around to doing all of the first-line challenges, but they were in a file, so...(I was looking for something else) saw Liz's, and, BAM. This hit my brain.
X-Men, comics-verse, semi-current canon. 100 words.
Crimson and gold, laughter suddenly silenced.
He can see her again, standing in front of him as they exchange vows. Her lips crimson, her skin gold and radiant. Two thousand years into the future she was still radiant with life and love. Twelve years spent raising a child that wasn't even hers hadn't dimmed that.
Left twisting in the wind by the world they defend. No change.
This, here, sordid, dark and white and velvet. This has finally done it.
Scott Summers can feel the dread choking him when Jean Grey slowly changes before his eyes. Lightning crashes.
Everyone dies.
