There is danger here, he's not used to that. He's used to studying things, testing them under controlled conditions. Peter Grodin understands the science of Earth-based technology, but even he is tested in this new environment.
It's easy to be the tech geek, to have all of the answers to the twenty-thousand dollar question of "Where's my cup holder?" This, though, is harder. This is fly-by-the-seat of his pants tech support.
So it comes as a surprise to him that he likes it here. There are technological marvels in Atlantis he will never understand.
But he's all right with that.
