Spoilers for tonight's Atlantis ep.
Dr. Weir shifted in her chair, finally remembering something that had been puzzling her. Since there was a slight pause while people shuffled paper around, she turned to General Hammond. "Not that I'm not pleased to see you, sir. But I have a question."
"Yes, Doctor?"
"Where is General O'Neill?"
"He's retired."
"Really?" She blinked. She wouldn't have thought Jack would retire that easily. He might have seemed like a man who wasn't fit for the command of the SGC, but she knew he'd fit. She'd seen him act. And he was good at his job. "Was there a reason?"
"Something to do with fishing." Hammond half-smiled.
"Fishing?" Wondering if she'd missed something, Liz shifted a pen and raised an eyebrow. "He retired to fish."
"I'm told Colonel Carter is a frequent visitor to his cabin in Minnesota."
There was a definite twinkle in the man's eyes now, and Elizabeth was reminded of the way Sam Carter (then a Major) had determinedly manipulated her way into a course of action that would bring back O'Neill. Dr. Elizabeth Weir prided herself on her skill as an observer. A slight smile touched her lips. "Ah."
"Now, about your recommendations..."
