Random blah etc

1. Finally got round to listening to the Dark Eyes set done by Big Finish (the first one), and, uh... It's dull. Like. It has all the parts that I feel should be entertaining, and they just don't work (ffs, it has Lady Emily Marchant in it. And all she does is make me yawn. It has Eight being hurt/comfort and swishy. And yet.)

I wanted to like it, and I made it through all four episodes, but I didn't ever feel a connection with anything. And reading up on two and three is even less interesting.

2. In other (related) news: things I am really tired of: Daleks.

3. Deadpool fought X-Force and warped all of time and kidnapped Hitler and it was ridiculous.

4. Black Widow continues to keep her clothing on. (I am shocked by this every month, tbh. After all: our concept of female spies is Mata Hari and Natasha in heels and a tiny dress) It is sort of amazing. Unsurprisingly, no one likes the book (I, of course, am loving it).

5. On the other end of the spectrum, Painkiller Jane and the 22 Brides continue to shoot people in the face whilst wearing high heels and bikinis (I tried. I tried to give them up, guys. I just can't, because they speak to me--I mean, Jane is the equivalent of Wolverine when he's got his healing factor. She just keeps on coming, damn). Seth is dull, guys, can we move on from him (dude, you do NOT GET TO OWN HER just 'cause she admits she loves you).

6. Ms. Marvel continues to be cute.

7. Storm was...idek. I think I need to process.

8. I am not reading Saga, yet. I'm pretty sure it's going to stomp on my heart.

9. I really liked Into the Dalek, ftr. I mean. I know I was probably drunk while watching it at DC. But. But. Can Clara and Danny make out a lot, please? Also: St. Trinian's: Taking over Doctor Who one episode at a time. (I am trying to work out how the crossover works, give me time)

I wouldn't have minded her joining - crowded TARDISes are hard to juggle, but still fun. Also, she and Clara seemed to get along fine. Also, Twelve needs more annoyances.

(at least in my head she is now hanging out with Oswin the Dalek, who was obviously rescued from the Asylum ages ago by wibbly-wobbly nonsense)

Crowded TARDISes have actually been the most fun for me, adventure-wise, even though I know it's hard for the writers to give attention to the right people. Plus, Journey wasn't afraid of speaking up to the Doctor, which is, to me, the number one criteria for a companion.

(She can hang out with Oswin the Dalek. Oswin the Dalek was awesome. Hey, maybe Clara the Governess is hanging out in whatever-heaven-is with Missy?)

Well, in unfinished fic, Oswin is hanging out with the War Doctor.

It should be fairly easy for me to extrapolate later things like her running into Journey. (even a Dalek needs a retirement plan. She can't go around knocking out Dalek prison camps for the rest of her life)

(I'm about two-thirds finished, so I don't think mentioning it will jinx it. I hope.)
