note to self

When there are penises involved, it's probably not femslash. Pay more attention to the links you're opening, dear.

ok, on another note entirely, I'm also reminded --

I was having this conversation with myself, about how BSG fandom sort of leans towards the rivalry of Dee vs. Hoshi (which, what? it's the END OF THE WORLD, WHO CARES), and I said aloud, "So, basically, if they try yo drag Felix into it, he'll be all '...ok, people, whip 'em out and I'll get the measuring tape' and then Dee's ten-inch strap-on would beat Hoshi's real one... for length."

And then I decided it was possibly time to go home, as, well, it might be a sign of a deranged mind.

eta: this is not to say that Dee normally has one of those. Or that Felix would be all "yay!" at her. Most likely, he'd be all "...so, Hoshi, wanna go for dinner?" and then Dee would smirk a little, roll her eyes and mutter, "Gods. FINALLY."

eta2: update finished, whoot. Now, back to the big bang, which is, like, four scenes away from being done. *fingers crossed*

Hee. Slap-happiness is always fun, and I know the craziness big bang can bring on! :) (I never wrote the filk for 12 colonies, but I was very tempted to do "Kacey's Mom (Has Got It Going On)." So yeah. :) )

The nepotism in the fleet was always ridiculous, not to mention handwaved to a massive degree wherein only people like Romo Lampkin would call it out.

Yeah. I mean, I got some of it. They probably wanted Lee's XO to be someone we recognized, and therefore Dee got the job. I suspect, out of context, it was a matter of giving Kandyse McClure the job over Brad Dryborough, and since Dee was the more major character, it made sense. But really, for all we saw her interacting with the crew, Hoshi could have been XO and Dee could have been Communications Officer. Heck, we didn't even see that much with Helo being XO.

I do think one of the big mistakes the BSG writers made was not taking advantage of what they brought in. They had a whole new mine of characters in the Pegasus. They didn't have to make them all major, but developing them more would have given them more options when it came time to be killing everyone off. ::grumbles about switching Dee and Hoshi's roles in 4.5, too.:: Plus, what a situation to have been in. The Pegasus people must have had some fascinating stories, and it might have been interesting to see some of those rather than Black Market or The Woman King :)

However, now you've given me an idea. Dee vs. Hoshi over Felix could be interesting, really. Not so much in the romantic sense, but Dee feeling like she needs Felix as a friend as her marriage falls apart and Felix being all happy and in love with Hoshi, and just being jealous over his time. Hmmmm....
