SFF: ...Dread Politics Edition

SG-1: *happysigh*
Lantis: *yawn*

-Sam in the black, standing on the Odyssey bridge actually stopped my mental processes. I need screen caps. And can I please have one of her?
-I love my depressing show. *pets it like a puppy*
-Adria. Nicely done. Still a bit of a spoiled brat, too.
-Sam. Rescue mission. Kicks. ASS.
-"Yes!"
-Mitchell was very Crichton this episode (and I've hated other people saying he is, but I'm sorry, there's just so many times you can hear a man point out they have common enemies and shit).
-Seriously. Sam using the staff? We need more of that. And more of the laptop of doom (which only turned the power off, anyway).
-Vala/Bra'tac OTP.
-ALSO ALSO ALSO. The fact that Sam went off on her own, to find the control room. And no one said, "OMG, someone go protect the GIRL." or something similar. And then she saved all their asses. *smug*

Bored:
-Jaffa politics.

Lantis.
I think I said most of what I thought prior. But... wow. Really shitty episode. 'Course, I imagine everyone in fandom will love it, as it proves the Sheppard/McKay love. *sarcasm*

But, in doing so, it guts all intelligence from Elizabeth Weir, and puts her neatly back in the "pointless human" role she occupies so often, when the spotlight is the boys.

Not that I really expected much, since this was a genii episode, and I fucking hate them.

Also, way to really bore me with the wraith thing. You know, this makes me want to watch ST:TNG's 'Enemy Mine'. At least Geordi is interesting.

Yeah. Can I have that hour of my life back?

Also, I used the wrong tape, and missed taping the episode, and I'm only slightly motivated to bother taping it.

See, I liked SGA and I don't like the Genii. I didn't think they made Elizabeth look stupid at all.

I loved Sam on SG1!! She was so cool. :-)

But Jonas's planet went Ori, and that makes me sad.

I want to disagree with you about Weir by, basically, repeating the prime directive cliches she used, but it wouldn't impress you because you still have a point. I still unapologetically liked the episode.

I rarely watch SGA so I can't say yay or nay one way or the other. However, I DO believe that Weir is having an affair with Sheppard's hair... Its where she looked every time he was tortured!

And I guess the Genii were the people that held him captive, and that the guy that Ronan (er... the Tall Loomy Dude) loomed over with Menace and Scowl.

...I don't see the Sheppard/Mckay... Am I missing the subtext? Of course, my eyes usually go for het first.

Hmmm.

Oh, I don't think Elizabeth was wistful human at all. It was HER decision what to do. SHE was the one who opted to hold the line. SHE called them down, although she should have bitch-slapped Ronon a bit more for disrespecting her author-i-tie, although he eventually did.

SHE was the one who directed everything and didn't back down. "MY decision." "My country doesn't negotiate with terrorists" (As for that last one, hmmm, for although it's an international expedition, that could be construed more as a comment on her philosophy than the Atlantis mission statement per se).

Most importantly, John knew she wouldn't- John, responding to Kolya's taunting about "Overestimating *Dr. Weir*" during the torturing, "Then you're underestimating *Elizabeth*."

As for the Sheppard/McKay bidness, feh. I *just don't get that*. ELIZABETH was the one who repeatedly stared longingly at the Gate. They totally screwed when he got back, all invigorated with youth and whatnot.

I thought the episode was quite Sheppard/Weir shippy, actually, and as that is currently my favorite ship, I liked it.
