It can be worth checking out who's doing the reviewing - after a while you get a feel for who's critical and who will love anything as long as it has the magic words 'Sam and Jack in lurve' contained

Sadly, most of them don't actually contain the real Jack O'Neill and Sam Carter. Most of them contain the Author As Sam, and Jack The Hunk.

Does every fandom contain as much dross as SG-1, or is it *special*?

I think part of the problem though is that there aren't enough canon-based pairings available - it sends people a little crazy.
