It wasn't where he was supposed to be.
His legs were tangled with someone else's, and Daniel was pretty sure there were too many hands half-open on his chest.
The last time he'd woken like this had been after Jack was defrosted and SG-1 'celebrated'. Only Teal'c could walk straight for the next few days. And no one talked about it.
Daniel carefully opened one eye. Yep. Definitely not where he was supposed to be.
The man on his left shifted slightly, and Daniel considered.
He could, conceivably, get up and run like hell. Or he could be polite. And Daniel was always polite.
"Good morning, Major Sheppard."
The man shifted again, rolling to stare at him. "Dr. ... Jackson."
A groan from Daniel's other side alerted them to the third occupant's awakening state. "What the--"
The Major moved and peered over Daniel, then said cheerfully, "Morning, McKar. Sleep well?"
"No, Major, I did not. In fact, I--"
Daniel sighed, "Dr. McKay, that is me you're groping."
"Oh. Sorry. I thought..."
Major Sheppard snickered, "I'll have to remember this the next time you claim you wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed."
"I normally do, Major. It's just this time, I'm a little disoriented. I'm not used to waking up next to a naked Daniel Jackson."
Daniel settled back against his pillow. "If I close my eyes will the two of you be a dream?"
"No." Sheppard flopped an arm over Daniel and poked Rodney. "I kinda like it here."
"Fine." Daniel closed his eyes anyway.
McKay's hand flopped back onto his chest. "Too damned early to be up anyway."
"Yup."
Daniel nodded. Besides. He hated awkward questions before he'd had his coffee. And Sam was sure to wander in eventually with said substance. She, after all, had probably ended up with Jack. And they didn't do romantic morning afters well.
