Kym's fault, Foe's fault, whatever.

Kym's fault: because I'm being nice and waiting until she's gone from work.
Foe's fault: because I'm watching Bab5 as it dubs, and he knew which episode was on, and, stuff.

Shortfunfic: untitled.
Rating: PG/13
Pairing: Elizabeth Weir/Garibaldi
Shows: Stargate: Atlantis/Babylon 5
Not. Mine.

"You remind me of someone I used to know," he says one morning.

It's the first information he's really shared about his past--he doesn't talk much about it. But then, neither does she. The past reminds her of too many things. Earth and Atlantis, and an expedition of people that she killed. There's no past, here, she likes to think.

"Do I?"

"Yeah." His hand comes up and his thumb brushes across her cheek. "She was happier, though."

"Ah." Elizabeth doesn't want to discuss her happiness, and so she turns slightly and nips his thumb.

Garibaldi half-shrugs in compliance, and drops the subject.

Later, when she's wiping the sweat from her eyes and looking down at him, she sighs. "You remind me of home."

He shifts her to the side and she curls into him. "Do I now?"

"Yes," her hand trails over his chest and she relaxes, slowly. He's given her a gift, in a way. She should return it in kind. But home is difficult to talk about, and far far away. "Sunshine and rain and grass that's freshly-cut."

"Poetic," he mocks gently.

"You remind me of stability."

Garibaldi is silent for a while, and then he chuckles, "You remind me that there are good things in life. Like leggy brunettes, sex, and sleep."

"That a hint?"

"Maybe."

She doesn't begrudge him. She can't. He's all she's got now.

See? I said it was short. And pointless.

Um. I shall not ruin this by saying "OMG, Garibaldi is from Mars!" 'Cause I like this.

I think my mind was just blown by this concept.

Elizabeth Weir.

GARIBALDI.

Holy crap.

Man, I adore both those characters the mostest from their shows, and you just made them do sex, and didn't explain why, and that's COOL. And my brain's still blown. :)

*laughs*

I didn't mean to break your mind. I'm sorry. I just.... so totally liked this idea (and Kym actually said John would end up shot through the head, but that didn't happen). Need to watch more B5.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2005-03-14 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
You didn't break my mind except in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY.

However, I don't see Liz and Michael being a good match. (Desperate situations described in your ficlet notwithstanding.) I think his instability and depression would be too... erratic for her, although he'd probably crush on her hardcore, because he's just that much of a sucker for punishment ;) Although... huh. Now that I think about it... his intensity might appeal to her after all. Er. *shrugs*

I'm probably bad at this game, as am only person evarrrr (or, at least, on LJ) who 'shipped him with Talia. (Because he's so cool and deserves what he wants! And he wanted her! So. Laa.)

*g* Good.

And, I'm basing this on only the first half of season one, and I think she would like him. He's very... normal, really. She might actually like that...

But, er, you're talking to the person who can pair anyone.

Really.

And I currently otp Susan/Talia, but I can see her eventually giving in to Garibaldi... *g*

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2005-03-14 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Most people do. I like Susan/Talia just because of all the telepath stuff, and, yay, girl on girl action, and... yeah, it has a lot going for it. Strangely enough, I think my first foray into reading online porn was Susan/Talia because of the telepath sex (such a longstanding kink, w00t). But I saw the show when it first aired and I was too young and really didn't get it. (Are you spoiled for the future of the show at all?) At any rate, I was like "omg, I want them to be best friends 4eva yay! And then they both get BOYFRIENDS and things'll be great! Wheeee!" Plus, Peter David wrote the episode that smacked me upside the head with the Talia/Garibaldi and that just DID ME IN.

And... Michael *is* rather normal, but unstably so (I find). His normality is also part of why I wanted to hook him up with Talia... although that was more a "omg she is PERPETUAL damsel in distress" and he just needed to be that white knight for a girl a whole lot. And she's hot, and he's a puppy, and they have the great Psi Corps Issues which you get with Susan/Talia too... and, yay. But I digress.

I heart Garibaldi, and so he can so deserve AU sex with Lizzie.

(Although now I'm having all these thoughts about Lizzie/John Sheridan... in an AU full of angst and death, of course, where the crossover is equally unexplained...)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2005-03-14 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
... and if you *aren't* spoiled... and, actually, even if you are, because I really wasn't sure... who's the brunette that Liz reminds him of?

Am not spoiled, but I... Dodger? Digger? Second season episode, and I noticed her because I looked up and she was mauiling him. Garibaldi doesn't get mauled often.

Heh. If I ever finish Susan/Talia, it's all angst all the time. No telepathysex, though...

hrm.

And crossovers without explanation sometimes work. ;)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2005-03-14 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Dodger, yay! That was my first guess, but then you said the first half of season one, and I totally couldn't remember when that episode happened and was all "... he can't mean Ivanova, can he? I'm pretty sure Lise has already been mentioned..."

And Susan/Talia are great for the angst as well. I... just... yeah, have a teepsex kink. :)

And I totally ripped off your crossover-without-explanation last night to get the Sheridan/Weir bunny out of my head. I think I succeeded in that regard, but otherwise it is rather of teh aaaaaangst and terrible. And completely incomprehensible unless someone's seen the whole show and then follows like six Little Red leaps of logic. Oh well! You win some...

Your first guess was right, since I was dubbing and looked up to see her...

And, bah. You should post crossoverness. Or, uh, wait until I've seen it all and then post....

Everyone's talking about B5 these days!! I have to watch more. And get the seasons I'm missing. Mmmmmmmm, B5. :)
