Dear reviewers of Cauterized People.
No. The Asgard are not going to fucking fix Sam. In what world is it going to make her psychologically healthy to get pregnant? NONE.
Considering past evidence, it would probably cause a psychological break, and she'd kill herself. End of story.
Love, Lyssie.

I have no frelling clue about the fic in question, other than what I can glean from this post, and I want to dopesmack the people you're addressing.
Oy.

*snuggles Lyssie* Don't worry, it means that you made them all angsty, which means the fic was good ;o)

*blinks some more*
Um, yeah. Because THAT would be good for the person who first discovered she had Jolinar's memories by startling out of a nightmare snapping "We don't use the sarcophagus!" *facepalm*

Guilty as charged. :)
Sorry. :( *bats eyes*
But but but... a) Baal's sarcophagus did the trick, no need for the Asgards (I'll stich to it) and b) I don't need you to write it, just thinking the possibility is there is enough for me. I can make my own 'cauterized people' verse!

Lemme guess: That story was brought to us by your evil twin, FluffLyssie, right? And having the Supreme Commander of the Asguard Fleet acting as matchmaker can't be construed as the normal course of thing, I suppose.

Which... needs to be finished. hrm.
...*pause* Wait. I thought I WAS the evil twin?

You are the Evil Twin. That fic was from the evil twin. Or maybe the good, evil twin. And remember, bad is good, so you being the Bad Evil Twin is really good. Or something.

Yes. I'm one of those people who will one day write the SGC dying in a bloodbath as Sam snaps from eight years of UST..
er.
Actually, I'm the one who was unimpressed (I can't help it. Benway wrote skullfucking, once) at the darkness of most fic. Though Tafkar does a damn fine job of it.

I was actually going to reply to your post a day or two back about darkfic, but then I didn't and time went by and it seemed a little late. It's just rather interesting as to what various fans consider to be darkfic. As an example, I wouldn't necessarily consider any rape fic to be darkfic... unless it happens between two memebers of SG-1.
It also seems to differ between fandoms as you've stated. I remember a thread I was in once about blood being used as a sexual lubricant in Buffy fics. (I've never seen an episode) It's not unusual in that fandom but, damn, if blood as a lubricant was used in SG-1... that's definitely pretty damn dark for SG. (And so ridiculous as well since it's SO not a lubricant in any sense of the word... but I digress...)
I guess there's a line between heavy angst and darkfic as well, as faded as it may be. Just wondering if you had some thoughts. On that.

My main problem was that, reading most of the fic it was either really bad bdsm porn (I've read better on erotic story archives) that turned Sam into an object, rape fic where Sam was a wimp who could not defend herself (which, uh, hello, she IS in the AF, she DOES have training for that sort of thing), or... well, actually, that was it. Except for the one where Jack tortured a guy to death. And I did kinda like that one.
Oh! And one crappy Ba'al torturing Jack by sodomy fic.
Sigh.
I'm sure there's good dark SGC fic out there. I just... haven't really seen it.
And blood as a lubricant is like using superglue as a lubricant. Or spit.

And, no, even Thor can't fix Sam. And it makes me sad because I believe that Thor can do nearly anything.
(whimpers)My poor beloved Thor...
Not even Jack's HeroPenis can make her unbroken. But it can make her forget for a little while. So...that helps.

I...

Nope, this on top of today's Physics and Maths classes have broken my brain.

You know, there's not enough dark Daniel fic. He's got some shit going on. If anyone is going to shift a bit off kilter and get up to something... it's him. *g*

Continues elusive search for darkfic. I suspect that I will be searching for a long time to come. But I liked this darkfic.

To have them fix her would not only break her brain, but pretty much invalidate and make pointless the entire fic...

If the show actually dealt with some repercussion of even just one bad thing that ever happened to SG-1, they'd be so fucked-up that normality would stay the hell away from them and I wouldn't wish even the most annoying brat around to have such parents. But the show doesn't do that. They've got the teflon of almighty resilience all over themselves and the bad stuff just glides over and doesn't stick. So, Sam+Jack=kids, that's something the show doesn't oppose in its spirit, especially as they are also shown as wanting a family, whether it's a nucleus of two, three or more doesn't really make a difference.
In the course of your fic, I'd say it's up to the reader's imagination. As it should be really. God darn it, those writers think so highly of themselves! ;-p
