Dear Daniel Jackson fans. Please stop telling us there's no Daniel in the show.
Actually, I believe the quote is, that he has a "lesser role after season four"/
Which is complete and utter shit. And you people really want to make me kill. Because SG-1 is SUPPOSED to be an ensemble show.
Seriously. You people need to buy yourself some fun toys, have some good orgasms, and remember IT'S JUST A SHOW.
Now I need to go write something that has Sam and Teal'c in it, since they're barely IN the show.
Lyssie's in-depth Daniel Analysis. By season:
S5
Enemies - Daniel was in great evidence here. The OT3 was strong with the force as they shot at Replicators. Daniel also hung out with Jake for a bit, leaving the military side of the team on their own. To... shoot at things. As they do.
Threshold - Everyone gets their little moment with Teal'c. But most of this ep is ALL Teal'c, all the time. I confess to having skimmed it and not actually watched.
Ascension - This was a Sam episode, but Daniel was in evidence here. In the beginning, at least, wearing the do-rag of shame.
The Fifth Man - While it was Sam's Machiavellian smirk that got Simmons, Daniel was there as cheerleader, and iirc, he's the one who called Simmons on it not being about Jack at all...
Red Sky - Daniel spent most of this episode keeping Jack calm, and talking to the people. And keeping Jack from killing anyone.
Rite of Passage - ...he talked to Cassie? I don't know, this episode is so painfully bad I've only watched it once.
Beast of Burden - I dare anyone to tell me there wasn't Daniel in this episode. This whole fucking thing was ABOUT him. And it was bad. Really bad. *beats DeLuise* No more Unas, damnit!
The Tomb - Lots of Daniel, lots of Daniel snark.
Between Two Fires - Ah, Daniel the diplomat.
2001 - Daniel the archeologist, climbs down into the abandoned city.
Desperate Measures - Sam episode (omg, there were TWO this season). And isn't it sad that no one noticed she was missing for two days?
Wormhole X-Treme! - I don't think this one counts....
Proving Ground - Daniel, the evil mastermind.
48 Hours - Daniel, the diplomat, scaring Paul Davis to bits.
Summit - Daniel, manslut to the stars.
Last Stand - See above.
Fail Safe - This was all about ripping off very bad movies. With snark from everyone.
The Warrior - Teal'c episode, and there was Daniel. Just not a lot. And Sam shot things.
Menace - ...All about Daniel's love for children.
The Sentinel - Daniel's love for people who break the rules, plus, Jack getting really bored with things. And, well, the whole harmonics thing.
Meridian - Duh.
Revelations - He gets lots of mentions in this one, and even closes out the episode as a breeze.
Season five tally: Daniel was definitely there.
Season six: He was in three episodes, and mentioned numerous times. The man was DEAD, people, and he was still mentioned. No one talks about Jonas Hanson anymore, or Apophis (well, Teal'c might), or even living people, like poor Lieutenant Simmons.
Season seven
Fallen
Homecoming - Do I even HAVE to do these two? I mean, jesus fucking christ...
Fragile Balance - Daniel makes jokes at Jack's expense.
Orpheus - All About Daniel's memories of being Ascended.
Revisions - Haven't -- wait. Have seen it. Daniel plays a major part, talking to the lady who disappears, and helping Sam convince Halling that they're right.
Lifeboat - ALL ABOUT DANIEL.
Enemy Mine - Daniel talks to the Unas the entire fucking episode.
Space Race - Daniel gets himself captured, and Jack has to save him. Er, I think.
Avenger 2.0 - Daniel is stuck on a planet that's flooding.
Birthright - This is a Teal'c episode, yet Daniel still gets to talk to the cute kids and Make a Difference.
Evolution, Part 1
Evolution, Part 2 - Indiana Jackson. Fuck, at this point, I'm trying to see an episode where he ISN'T a major part of it.
Grace - Well, it's a Sam episode. There's Daniel, though.
Fallout - Daniel the diplomat, again. And Jonas with bad hair. Sigh.
Chimera - Half of this episode is All About Daniel. Again. C'mon, people, at this point, I'm beginning to wonder why they don't rename the show the Stargate: Daniel Jackson.
Death Knell - Daniel talks to lots of people in this episode, including the Tok'ra, jaffa, and Jacob. He also participates in the Glare of Doom given to Reynolds when he suggests Sam is dead.
Heroes, Part 1
Heroes, Part 2 - ...C'mon, do I have to do this one? Daniel spends part 2 angry at everything, cries in the dark, talks to Bregmann, and generally is in lots of scenes.
Resurrection - Daniel Talks to Mary Sue Goa'uld. And mourns her death. There is no Jack. *sad*
Inauguration - None of them were in this one, except for clips.
Lost City, Part 1
Lost City, Part 2 - You're right. Daniel wasn't in this episode at all. Jack never told him he couldn't put his head in the library, he didn't get drunk at Jack's and talk about Teal'c, he didn't try to hit on Weir, and he did't figure out the praklarush teonas was a gate address. Oh, wait, he did.
Season eight
New Order, Part 1
New Order, Part 2 - Did anyone miss Daniel? If you blinked, you might have. Not. Half of this episode is Daniel and the Goa'uld. Oh, and Liz.
Lockdown - Daniel gets taken over, shot, talks to the goa'uld, and comes up with a really stupid plan.
Zero Hour - There wasn't ANY SG-1 in this. But Daniel did get to be snarky.
Icon - Daniel is the only person in this episode, apart from the guy who is now dead and a martyr to his cause.
Avatar - Daniel goes into the fucking game to save Teal'c. (actually, I love this ep. CJ did a FABULOUS job with it)
Affinity - Let's see. Daniel talks to Teal'c, Daniel gets himself almost snipered, Daniel translates something from Ancient, Daniel gets zatted. Yep. Pretty sure he was in this.
Covenant - I can't watch this episode. I think Daniel was in there, among the stupid.
Sacrifices - Daniel was cute with Sam, talked to Teal'c... at the ceremony?
Endgame - Daniel was in this episode. A lot.
Gemini - Daniel was only in the very beginning, but I suspect that's because he was off to work on his arguments for the next episode.
Prometheus Unbound - Not enough Daniel? Right. You people are apparently smoking something good. Or just not watching.
It's Good To Be King - Lots of Daniel, in geek!mode, and being weapony.
Full Alert - Again, lots of Daniel. Diplomat, interogator, idiot.

If your still in rant mode, could you run down all the "proving the ship" S/J eps?
What irritates me about my daniel hate is that Reckoning made me like him. A lot. *growls*

And, well, I don't hate Daniel. I get that he's part of the greater whole. His fans just make me want to kill him so he'll go away. :/

Nor will they ever stop claiming that their campaign convinced the producers to hire him back.
