random ficlet

Sam/Jack
(at this point, I am still not sure whether I like this style or not. eh. And this was almost girl!Jack, but was... angsty.)

When Jack O'Neill tells you that you are beautiful, you start to believe it.

Not that Jack uses words like beautiful. Sexy, drop-dead gorgeous, fuckable... The list goes on, some of the terms cruder than you expected (although you're used to it, by now).

You have occasionally wondered if any Earth-based humans find you attractive. Oh, the non-Earth men seem to be all over you, giving you that professional look. Of course, some of that has to do with your mind. Some is the part where you look just like his dead girlfriend who lasted for 100 years -- now that's longevity.

Daniel would tell you that every culture has different aesthetic values, and he could lecture endlessly on the subject.

But Jack simply tells you that you're pretty damn cute.

Jack tells you other things in the dead of night when you're the only ones in the world.

Not poetic, heartfelt things -- but difficult things. Light and dark and shade, memories and nightmares that twist up inside and leave the both of you shaking until the dawn comes.

You watched Willow together once, with a huge bowl of popcorn. And you mocked Madmartigan horribly.

"I dwell in darkness without you" is kind of strangely familiar, though. You think it might have been what you felt like before you knew the glittering co-dependancy of being in love with Jack.

There are no guarantess in this relationship -- and you don't often think of it in such formal terms.

After all, both of you could end up dead tomorrow while trying to save the world.

So you don't think about tomorrow.

i'm looking at your leg. thinking about how i want to break it.

"I love you, Sorsha!" :giggles:

Mm. Fluff. I like this. The style is fun, different.

She is damn cute. Jack's never incorrect on that point. ;)

Awwwww! I can see Jack being in a romantic mood and going "You're fuckable." At which Sam glares at him, kicks him in the shins and then has sex with him *nods*

Nice ficlet!

This reminds me once more that I need to see Willow again. Damn!

And what do you mean, "almost girl!Jack"? Damn!

Fabulous. And the style is good ... in doses. The nice thing about being a writer is that you don't have to pick just one style to play with.

Jack tells you other things in the dead of night when you're the only ones in the world.

Not poetic, heartfelt things -- but difficult things. Light and dark and shade, memories and nightmares that twist up inside and leave the both of you shaking until the dawn comes.

Jeez. One of my obsessions about them. So glad you put this in this ficlet, because it gave it so much depth.

Thanks!

I am still not sure whether I like this style or not

Well, I like the results, so that's something. *g* Thanks for the ficlet. Nice escape on a day when I just don't feel like working.

*snerk*

Thank you. Jack is rarely, if ever, incorrect. ;)

Well, it started out being girl!Jack, but then male!Jack was like, "Hey! That's MY Carter!" and, uh, so it was...

why are you looking at me like I'm nuts?

Maybe because part of me thinks girl!Jack is more pragmatic and thus has less angst? Hrm...

Thank you.

Y'know, I remember when I first started writing. I used to say I'd never write in anything but past tense/etc. Then I tried present, I think, once....

And I realized there was a whole world of expression. *g*

I think my brain needed them kinda angsty.

Well. :less desperate now: We love them. Therein, we shall write to the best of our abilities, our own private universes where SamandJack are happy and together, damnit. And occasionally doing naughty things with Sparky.

Ooooooooo make!Jack is going alpha!male. *giggles* Or was it simply completely hetero!Sam who never met girl!Jack and thus never went gay?

Oooooo, that's a nice theory. *wants girl!Jack fic now*

Good stuff.

I know that feeling! I swore I'd never write in present tense ... didn't even really even enjoy reading it. And then along came Alias fandom. Where almost everyone wrote in present tense. So I wrote two ficlets in it, and now I actually kinda like it (when well done, of course).
