Got up this morning to find Lauren in... distress, I suppose is the best word. Took her to the vet, and discovered she had a fluid-filled abdomen. Once the fluid was checked (it was blood), they could also determine that there was cancer.

Oddly, this didn't surprise me. I hate being right, with a passion.

I'm being clinical because it hurts if I poke at it too much. I had them put her to sleep, since there really isn't... well, if I were made of money, I could do kemotherapy, or a hundred other things. But I'm not. And I don't think I'd want to see her suffer through that, anyway. Would have wanted.

So... I need to call my parents soon. Sigh.

You're right about the cancer treatment. If it had progressed that far there was nothing that could have been done, and even if you were made of money your options would have been extremely limited. Please don't double-guess yourself. Money or no, this was the best option.

She was a good cat, in a good home with a good owner. Even if she didn't have you all to herself. Please call me if there's anything I can do.
