Paranoid, season 1 (eps 1-3)
I hadn't intended to watch more than a few minutes to see if it was something I'd enjoy.
Two and a half episodes later, and I have to pause to say this.
THE PLACE TO TELL SOMEONE ABOUT SOMETHING RELATED TO A MURDER (ie, about the person who's been feeding you clues) IS NOT WHEN YOUR ALMOST GIRLFRIEND IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN ON YOU.
Way to kill the mood, Alec. Way to kill the fucking mood.
Which is to say, I'm quite enjoying it, and it is really really gorgeously-shot. I've gotten a ridiculous number of screencaps just because the angles/lighting/etc (it's why I fell in love with Motive, too).
Well, and Indira Varma is pretty.
Anyway, it's slow-moving, but interesting enough to keep me watching. It's a bit like Five Days, if anyone's watched that (well, the second series as that's the one I've seen).
Also, it's a bit disconcerting as Lesley Sharpe is in it as not Janet Scott. Or a copper.

I haven't tried Happy Valley, but the premise doesn't ping with me right now.
Paranoid is a bit by the numbers, to be honest. I mean, I'm enjoying it, but I also can see the "this is how this character should react" nuts and bolts. er, so to speak, it's not really breaking new ground.
Except possibly with Bobby and Lucy? I feel like Bobby's storyline is usually not done with someone his age. And Lucy is... unique.
I've not see Luther, though it's on my list of things to watch eventually.
