lyssie: (Miss Marple has opinions)

ngl, flist, I drank on an empty stomach.

1. if your response to Root is to call her a creepy psycho murderer who looks like a little girl, you are kind of gross.

2. if your response to Root/Shaw is to have a freak-out about how shipping is wrong, wrong, wrong, then maybe you're a little homopobic.

DO YOU SEE MISS MARPLE IN MY ICON? She is judging you, people. She is judging you all deeply.

And possibly also planning your death by poisoning. Even if this isn't the Marple who is Evil Incarnate (I don't have enough icon spaces, sorry Joan)

ps. Fearless Defenders was canceled. This makes me angry. guess what, ladies. You want more books with women in them, you have to fucking buy them. If you're not buying them, you are part of the fucking problem.

IT'S OK, THOUGH. I'm sure Marvel will make more Iron Man or Captain America or Hawkeye bullshit. Because that's all so fucking original.

Root/Shaw is a thing of beauty, shipped even by the Machine, and if you don't ship it, beware, because you are being watched. ^^

THIS, yes. I mean, really. The Machine keeps pairing them up...

 I was so terrified of Miss Marple growing up - and I do mean Miss Marple and not the series. (She was amazing, though, absolutely amazing in the part, in a way that almost renders the others redundant, even though nearly all of them are brilliant actors that I really like. Just terrifying.)

She is terrifying. Hixson (I'm murdering her name, I know it) has this very cold, filled-with-death gaze that is shiver-inducing.

She would murder you and be able to cover it up and give no fucks about it whatsoever if you crossed her. Or possibly frame you for someone else's murder.

(the other two aren't bad, and I actually prefer the production values. However, Geraldine is a bit more humanized--which is fine! I love that she drove ambulances in WWI or something like that. And the newer one whose name is escaping me is more a grandmotherly con artist.)

I do like the other two - I mean, Geraldine McEwan and Julia Mckenzie are great, generally, but Joan Hickson does win out, I think. (And I don't know - about the ambulance driving and stuff, I mean, because, much as I like that kind of WWI thing, it really is rather missing the most essential point of Miss Marple - which is to assume that only people who have travelled/married/done adventure stuff can know things, whereas Miss Marple may have lived all her life in a village, but she has been sharply observing human life all this time. So that bit annoys me, I handwave it away when I watch them. But given their tendency to ignore the books almost completely, handwaving is fairly easy.)

Joan Hickson is awesome. It was terrible when she was in that old ITV Dracula I wound up watching and everyone patronised her. It was so, so Wrong. *shakes head*

You know I generally am not a shipper, and even *I* ship Sam Squared. ;)

She would, she'd probably also have the Machine all figured out and everything

'Tis sad. I think the writer tried to wrap stuff up, but he seemed to have these giant ideas and only so much page-space. So while I think he tried., he's sort of left a lot of gaping holes because he didn't have the space to do what he wanted. :/
