Spooks 10x6

I finally remembered to watch it.

Well. Part of it. I didn't really care anymore about the plot or most of the people, and I'd spoiled myself. So, I wanted to see how people died. (and since it's Spooks s10, it was, of course, the women who died)

1. Elena. Choke-holded to death in ten seconds by her husband. I'd've understood it if, like, he'd broken her neck. But a choke-hold of that long is only going to send someone unconscious. I don't think that's what the writers had in mind, though. Also, strangled in front of her son. And without really fighting, either. She just let it happen.

2. Ruth. Stabbed with a one-inch piece of glass held not-very-securely by a boy who probably wasn't even pushing it forward. In her gut/side. Where there's muscle, skin, fabric and fat to get through before you hit, y'know, the intestines. Which aren't particularly fatal. (later infection setting in is probably not so great)

I would have been all right (for certain values of 'all right' that do not include my blinding rage at Yet Another Woman Is Fridged For the Sake of the Plot) with either of them (or both) being dead if their deaths had been in any way realistic. But they weren't. For fuck's sake, does no one on the writing staff even know where they can borrow a copy of Grey's? LIBRARIES EXIST IN ENGLAND, DON'T THEY?

I'm really really glad the show has been canceled. As entertaining as it's been over the seasons, the last two were really just utter shit.

So. To sum up? Series ten wasn't really worth it. Not even for Erin and her fabulous hair.

Meh. I'm glad I haven't been watching this season. I watched about half of the first episode of S10, but wandered off. And then when I'd heard they'd killed off Ruth, I lost all remaining interest.

It's intensely frustrating--I enjoy the show, but it's just. ARGH. I want to write them and be like "did none of you think this through?"

Also, there is no point to Ruth dying, outside of proving "OMG NO ONE IS SAFE" (except, y'know, Harry)

There are currently still libraries. The tories haven't closed them all down, but I wouldn't put it past them.

This is good to know. It means the writers of Spooks can't even be bothered with simple research.
