wut.

Jean then reconciles with Cyclops and fully bonds with the Phoenix Force and ascends to a higher plane of existence called the "White Hot Room"

....wtf.

THIS IS WHY ONE DOES NOT READ MARVEL COMICS ANYMORE, KIDS.

Is this something I could learn by driving my lazy self down to the comic shop?

Possibly. Wikipedia's footnote claims it was part of Phoenix: End Song, by Greg Pak. (suddenly, it becomes entirely possible) I read that one, and I don't remember the White Room. It is possible I blocked it out, though.

Oh, good grief, LJ.

P:ES is one of those 'alternate future' minis.
I'm pissed about the upcoming "Iron Age".

Ah. Then this is not something I'm likely to already own without realizing. I try to avoid 'alternate future' stuff in most fandoms, which makes it hard to keep up with the Summers family, actually.

The white hot room itself was in mainstream continuity under Grant Morrison, but the bit where the Jean/Phoenix meld goes there and everyone talks about how much they love her is out of continuity. (I didn't mind it originally - it was just a scary Phoenix place!)

Oh, this was a Grant Morrison thing? Okay, then we shouldn't expect it to even make the slightest bit of sense. I mean, this is the guy who had Superman defeat Darkseid by singing.
