SFF; Doctor Who, 6x2, Day of the Moon
I waited until the airing on BBCA. I am so proud of myself.
aaaaaaaaaaaugh. THREE MONTHS. Of running and tally-marks and general escapeyness. OMG. We'll handwave how well the clothing held up.
Except for River, of course, who did well enough to wear evening wear.
omg, I don't have the words, really. I loved the episode, I thought it was a brilliant follow-up to the previous, and I'm almost hopeful enough not to worry where the season is going.
Also, the number of people who are all "OMG we don't know that the Silents were evil, the Doctor is a meanie for setting the human race on them!" is a bit disconcerting. I mean, sure, they could just be cuddly puppies and kittens who give humans post-hypnotic suggestions because that's what's best for those silly humans, and it's not like parasites aren't perfectly cuddly little things or that the Silents didn't like to murder people for shits and giggles... All they have to do is leave Earth, and humanity won't bother them.
Canton is still awesome.
RIVER SONG. OMG. she was magnificent and then BROKE MY HEART IN A THOUSAND PIECES.
Moff gave me more nightmare fuel. WTF WITH THE CEILING and the Doctor talking about the SPACES UNDER YOUR BED and shit.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaugh
I'm excited to find out more about this little girl and the mystery of her, and how she's linked (or not) to Amy being Schrodinger pregnant.
Amy was ridiculously hot in her Scully outfit, and the bit in the asylum, sorry orphanage, room (both of them) was brilliant. (how long were you in that room, Amy Pond?)
The Amy/Rory was adorable, and the bit where Eleven and Rory have a conversation was disconcerting, as men don't really talk in this show all that much. The genders are usually mixed.
Hrm. I had a lot of one-line sentences, there.
IT WAS WONDERFUL. I think I need to watch it again for dialog clarity. I got the plot bits, and loved them a lot.
eta: I forgot something, but now I don't remember what. Possibly how there was more timey-wimey nonsense--
OH. RIVER SHOOTING THINGS. Also, the swimming pool! I wonder if it's in the library still?
ohohoho. And I love that the Doctor toppled an invasion force/empire/whatever, here. I've missed that.

Also, if it's in exact reverse, why the need to keep a diary?

As for River - now we know why she said Doctor was wrong when he told her he won't do that again after last time. So I suppose evening wear is a must for such occasion. I loved this and all the other little references. But the blinking light, voice and empty space suit was a little bit eerie.
And then the kiss. Oh, River...
Amy's pregnancy and the little girl. Something very weird is going on there and I think Doctor is distracting them with new adventures so he can have more time to think about this.
Rory being all about finding Amy again. And that talk with Doctor reminding us that he is actually older even then the Doctor. Or at least remembers it. Although he's trying not to.
The solution to the problem was perfect. They just destroyed whole universe - erased it from existence. I don't think Doctor overdid it.
I feel like I missed so much. I need to watch it again.

I have watch this again, except the whole part in the orphanage CREEPED ME OUT SO MUCH! :shudders:
I may have to go to sleep with the covers over my head.

YES. I, er, may have pulled the covers over my head once or twice in the last week.

interfering/creating history! CREEPY THINGS ON THE CEILING. X-Files callbacks.

The LOOK on her face in that final scene left me all sniffly. Kinda like the little speech she had in the last episode.
OH. RIVER SHOOTING THINGS. Also, the swimming pool! I wonder if it's in the library still?
Both moments were perfect examples of River's brilliance. She can kill all those creepy Silent dudes without breaking a sweat (and while looking FABULOUS) and jumping off buildings into the TARDIS pool is just a thing she does. Stay flawless, Dr. Song.

Hee, I have to admit I'm bewildered that people were lamenting the Doctor's solution for the Silents/Silence whatever being unfair or cruel. I mean, yeah, the show is kind of inconsistent when it comes to how to dispose of villains, but they seemed awfully malevolent and irredeemable to me. Like, "kill a random lady in the bathroom, kidnap Amy, manipulate humans for eternity" is cool I guess. The idea of turning their influence against them was pretty cool IMO. And like you said, THEY CAN JUST LEAVE. Literally all they have to do to not get killed is, um, stop skulking around people's houses.
as men don't really talk in this show all that much
LOL, I knew that felt weird for a reason. Not *bad*, I'm just so much more used to them both primarily interacting with Amy, just having a split second where they were almost talking about something else -- the thing about Rome and his 2,000 years -- made me go "Oh hey, this is odd."
OH. RIVER SHOOTING THINGS. Also, the swimming pool! I wonder if it's in the library still?
AND ALL THE SNARKY BACK-AND-FORTH ABOUT HOW RIVER SHOOTS THINGS. AND (ZAP BANG) "I'M AN ARCHEOLOGIST." :D Also I love that she swan-dove into the swimming pool and it was just like "Oh, River, it's a thing she does."

Yes, that. THOUGH. To be fair, when humanity traverses the stars and all, they'll still be at risk if the people in happy spaceshipland watched the moon landing during their training.
(my thoughts on Rory and Eleventy talking are that I'm glad to know about Rory's memories and pleased that he got to keep them)
AND OMG RIVER. Jack got a spin-off, Sarah Jane got a spin-off. WHERE IS RIVER SONG: BADASS, BBC?

Matt Smith speaks so quickly and quietly, I'm constantly rewinding. I finally saw an interview where someone articulated that it was part of his conception of the Doctor that he almost throws some lines away to show how fast and how far ahead the Doctor is thinking. That was a total lightbulb moment for me. As much as I have to rewind, it's still one of the things I love about Eleven and his Eleveness.
