lyssie: (Fleur loves Karina)

what the hell am I going to listen to at work tomorrow?

idek.

Outcasts. Don't know what I think about it, having seen the first episode--I think it's a reserve judgment thing (or a "write a novel about Fleur and Karina pre-series" thing.) Yay for Hermione Norris having another job?

Chase has been canceled, as far as I can tell. I shouldn't be surprised. Just disappointed, as I am with these things.

I suppose I should listen to BF audios or something. I'm done with Foyle's War (or as much of it as I want, right now)--and Lynley holds no appeal at the moment. I suppose I could listen to Zagreus again, but I expect the cracktasticness wears off quickly if it's listened too often.

Bed early, I think.

Also, note to self: don't forget to take an hour lunch tomorrow and take that stuff in.

I think Outcasts gets better as it goes along but I'm mostly just watching for Fleur & Stella.

I thought it might? But it's still hard to get past the first episode, in some ways.

Also, one wonders if Jamie Bamber was desperate to shed the goody-two-shoes Lee Adama image.

eta: although, seriously, Outcasts is already three billion times better in terms of female characters with agency than The Walking Dead was. I'm waiting to find out Outcasts is canceled because of that.

Heh. I thought the same thing! And the character he plays in L&O UK is very similar to Lee in a lot of ways.

Very true. Sadly, the BBC moved Outcasts to Sunday night, which I've been told is a bad sign :(

ahahah. I wrote my comment and failed to hit post this morning. ahem.

He did one of the few things that will get me to hate a character without reservation.

And here's hoping if it gets canned we get something space opera-y in its place with lots of women doing things/

Hmm...I'm going to guess you had a big problem with him killing his wife and being so domestically abusive? IDK...I pretty much hated everything about his character. I love Bamber but I was pleased they killed Mitchell off in episode 1.

Space Opera with TONS AND TONS of women DOING THINGS and INTERACTING with each other = I would watch it religiously :D

Well, brutally beating his wife to death was the icing on the domestic violence cake, yes.

I watched the first episode and my reaction was mostly "Dear BBC, there is not enough sci-fi in your new sci-fi show. That is all."

I haven't watched any more. Perhaps I should Iplayer it.

heh. It reminds me a bit of Earth 2, just... not as sf-y. I don't know if it's good or not, I'm currently really bitter about Chase being canceled and it's affecting my judgment.

You're the first person I've seen be in any way ambivalent about Outcasts. I know one friend who's been following it in the UK and keeps capslocking her gender and ethnic frustration, so I'm kind of bracing myself for that, but still reserving judgment.

Despite my vast Amy Manson love, though, I'm waiting for BBCA just on account of The Busy That Is My Life.

I'm trying to hold off on judging it because I'm incredibly bitter over Chase being canceled, and Ron Moore getting another show, so I'm worried I'll be extra judgy.

Despite that, I'm still not happy about some of the things in the open.

But I'm sort of screwed if I want to watch Hermione Norris in something that isn't Spooks. There's Wire in the Blood, but I'm not really in the mood for Robson Green.

I can tell you that Amy is BRILLIANT in this, if that should effect your decision :)

I'll be watching it regardless; just don't have time to go torrenting it right now to catch up. But that's still good to know. :-) Thanks!
