tv catch-up: Haven and Lost Girl
Haven was renewed for a second season, for those wondering (thank goodness). I'm now caught up on both it and Lost Girl, though the latter only to episode four (five is showing tonight, I think?)
I'm enjoying Lost Girl, though I don't really have much to say about it, other than I hope it keeps up the "sex is not a sin" thing?
Haven, though.
Man.
What do I have the brain for to say about Haven?
Four episodes in a row, of snark and Audrey and Duke and Nathan and Julia and and. I don't know that I have words for that sense of dread that slowly built during the last two until bam.
Two Audrey Parkers
Except that Audrey isn't Audrey, she's Lucy. Reborn or rebirthed, or a hundred things like that (does she remember how she got the injury on her foot?)
I love that this is a show about what feels normal: family drama, and people who can't connect, but it's also got this underlying current of Bad Things that tie everything together until you're going "fuuuuuck."
The Chief said something about holding it all together, and I wonder if he means the universe or Haven or the timeline, or something else entirely, and who held it together before him, and who's job is it now? It wasn't Lucy's last time, it was his, after all. But it could be hers this time around, and is this time repeating itself or the universe fracturing or time travel or is Audrey living her life backwards, or--
all of this has happened before, after all.
Is there a way to stop it? Is the new Audrey Parker a new link in the chain or a sign of the universe falling to pieces?
And, oh, god. The episode where the kid blew himself up, and Audrey. Audrey, you talked him into killing himself I don't even--and it's not like she meant to, and I just. He was right, though. How does she prosecute something like that, with NO evidence?
*hands*
Although, that 'L' was sort of awesome.
Then there's Duke, who's a marked man, and Julia's disappearing tattoo.
does the symbol take a new host when it goes? Is there something that makes Duke the next target for the reason the Kid was originally killed?
So many unanswered questions.
Sigh.
OH SHOW.
And Julia! I <3 her, and sort of ship Audrey/Julia--though, srsly, Nathan with his "Audrey's touch makes him feel things" faces is sort of hot.
