more Leverage.
Spoilers, spec, dream ideas.
I sort of really want the following conversation:
Nate, in a park, after his state's evidence is given and he's released...
He was almost expecting them, but not the cheerful smiles.
"I thought..."
"We considered breaking you out," Sophie said, "But that would ruin the entire point of your giving evidence."
"Yeah."
blah, then:
"You know, Nate. Your wife? Very inventive." Eliot was smirking.
"She's better than you," Parker agreed, though she looked surprised to be saying it.
Hardison shrugged, "I don't know if better is the right word. More grounded, maybe. Less crazy."
The look on Parker's face disagreed with that, but it was Sophie who glared at him. "Yes, and rapeling down the Eiffel Tower, that's not insane?"
"Wait, what? Maggie?"
"Well, we had to have someone to run the ideas," Sophie explained, her head tilted to one side. "She wasn't very amenable at first, but we talked her round. Gave her a good line about straightening out criminals and rehabilitation."
"Not that she bought it, but she appreciated our services when there was that little Morocco thing." explained Hardison, sounding smug.
"And the Philadelphia thing," Parker piped up. She almost smiled as though in reminiscence, "I had no idea Maggie could be so... inventive."
"Yes, inventive. You said that already." Really, Nate was beginning to wonder why he'd let them turn him out of jail in the first place.
Sophie stepped up to him and took his arm, "Come on, we have pizza and a plan for entertainment."
"Where is Maggie?"
"She didn't think it would look good to be consorting with a convicted felon," Eliot told him, something amused in his gaze.
Nate scowled. Definitely should have stayed in jail.
...er, or something like that. Hey. Someone has to run them, and Maggie's no slouch.
