This just in...

Today, in a shocking turn of events, the alternator and new battery died in an apparent murder-suicide pact. Sources close to the victims are refusing to comment, although rumor has it that the car they reside in nearly stalled out on I-94 and was delivered, mostly by coasting, to Firestone.

Further reports detail the need for a fuel injector cleaning and an engine diagnostic, but those reports are incomplete.

Funeral arrangements are being held tonight with a very large drink.

Moya is now running fine again, but I don't want to think about how much much just went in and right back out again of my checking account thanks to rent being due as well.

OMG I just saw the report on TMZ! I stared in shock and horror and dismay! And then they added that there was a rumor of a terrorist attack by a fanbelt as well, but luckily it seems that's not true. PHEW.

Cars are awesome until they suck A LOT. My checkbook winces sympathetically.

The new battery should be able to recharge because it's new. Since the alternator in part recharges the battery, running without an alternator drains the battery. Also, I have been there.

Just make sure you have them put the battery on the overnight charger, NOT the fast-charger, otherwise it will reduce your battery life pretty severely.

I meant to comment on your previous post and recommend you have your alternator checked but I totally spaced - sorry! I had the exact same problem a couple of months ago (well, a bit different with a diesel). What kind of car do you have?
