lyssie: (Racetrack is hot)

I.... I.... (because, this must be shared)

But I have to say I liked it until the end. . . . But I do have to say I absolutely hate it when
authors start making up things about characters such as their sexuality when nothing about that topic has been mentioned before. I feel like you are ruining the character. Sorry but that's the way I feel.

I got this from someone on ff'net. Someone who objected to me writing subtexty Racetrack/Seelix on the end of a Kara/Sam fic.

I've seen this objection from people over boyslash, but over femslash??? !!

I am so sorry I've offended them. Really. And now I really need to go and write some more, because I've got nothing better to do. ;]

Also. One wonders how they missed all the other fic on there with speculation about sexual orientation...

HAH. Yes, see, I agree with that one.

Also, there's coffee cake on the stove.

I mean, go within reason for the character, but that goes for anything.

Woo. Coffee cake!

Thirded. If it makes sense (because, well, some characters... they're so straight it's not funny, and some are just so NOT straight, it's going to go against the grain for them to suddenly be straight), I don't have any problem with it.

what's funny is that, for, like, a few hours, I was all flaily about having to justify my tendencies. It was very disturbing.

D:

I felt the same way the other day when I had the TEMERITY to say I wasn't into a specific fandom's predilection for slashing its main characters and someone on my flist decided that meant I must clearly be REALLY SO ANTI-SLASH PERIOD EVER that it merited a de-friending even though I've known them for years and they're not even into said fandom at all. It's really fucking irritating. I'm like, um... yeah, whatever.

I had no idea I could get knee-jerk defensive about my preferences! I feel like a n00b all of a sudden.

Sigh.
