sff: ?????

BSG: Yeah, I got nothing.
Except Paulla was awesome.

Er. And Gaius Baltar apparently has Pete Wisdom's dad. HAROLD! GOOD TO SEE YOU.

And I called it that we'd never see Kara and Sam interacting in any sort of meaningful way.

No. Wait, I do have a reaction.

FUCK YOU, BILL ADAMA. FUCK YOU. WHEN was she your daughter, you asshole? When she spent a month worried about her comatose husband? When you ignored her after she came back? When you choked her? When you knocked a chair out from under her?

FUCK YOU.

eta:

1. Athena. I hate this plotline so hard. Can she go back to shooting people now?
2. OMG RACETRACK. AND SKULLS IS ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!
3. Paulla. <3
4. IT IS NOW CANON THAT KARA CAN COOK.
5. Also, I was totes expecting Leoben when she opened the door. I was sorely disappointed.

[livejournal.com profile] nique called that, and then I cracked up, and waited for Harold to be cantankerous at Caprica.

Paulla is always awesome and I'm still holding out hope that SOMETHING happens between Kara & Sam in the finale.

After all, they're going to the colony so those other frakkin' 4 need to figure out how to re-create the resurrection tech, then someone needs to kill hybrid-Anders so the REAL Sammy can resurrect and re-claim his rightful position next to Kara's side...or every single character needs to die painfully because RDM hates us all...Whatever:)

Other than Lee verbally punching Baltar's ticket and me having more wibbliness over the Galactica being torn up ... not much to go on, here.

When Lee was all pissy about Baltar joining the government, I was like OH HI THERE IS A VERY OBVIOUS SOLUTION TO THIS. ELECT PAULLA.

Word. I want to kick him.

4. IT IS NOW CANON THAT KARA CAN COOK.

Yay! Is it weird that I kind of hate it when everyone assumes that any female character living on her own cannot cook?

I hate it when everyone assumes a woman can cook. So I suppose that makes us even?

[identity profile] pataka02.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. I just hate it that it seems to be a fanon thing where a strong, independent woman who loves her work -- Sam Carter, Kara Thrace, Brennan -- can't cook for the life of her and turns helpless in the kitchen.

It irks me. They don't have to be fabulous cooks, or even like cooking, or want to cook... but seriously, they're supposed to fall apart at the notion of boiling some water for pasta?

[identity profile] lyssie.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
No. But it's sort of backlash against the idea that all women, everywhere, are obviously marvelous, gourmet cooks who do nothing but stand around barefoot in the kitchen all day.

And I don't know where you've been hanging out, but I haven't read or seen anything where any of those women collapse into hysterics because they've burned water. They might all prefer take-out menus and frozen pizza (and Brennan can cook, btw, it's frelling canon). I know I do.

[identity profile] pataka02.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
I've read really horrible SG-1 fic where Sam can't prepare a MRE, much less food for herself, and the men of SG-1 run in terror at the idea of her preparing a meal because she destroys all kitchens. I just hate how there's such an importance placed on whether or not female characters cook. It's so irritating, because that's rarely ever the case in regards to male characters.

And until they showed Brennan cooking on the show, I saw the same theme in Bones fic, where Booth had to teach Brennan how to cook or else she'd burn the kitchen down.

Dude, Bones fic is some of the worst shit I've ever seen, hands down. I think I've read all of three, in total. And two of them were excellent pieces on the porn battles. The rest? I skim two sentences and run screaming.

Though now you've got me wondering if the producers/writers read the fic and threw her cooking in there to smack them down. I might find that kinda awesome.

I'm passionate and cranky.

Because he was afraid Leland might steal her (man, if I ship Paulla/Leland, their love would be so political!)

The scary thing is, Paulla and Lee would get along like a house on fire, as they're both very practical people who really are working towards the common good--Paulla's common good is a subset of Lee's, of course.

[identity profile] shadowserenity.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 11:12 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking of Leoben, I hope to hell we see him. I'll be very pissed if they just leave the Kara/Leoben story as is.

This, yes. I understand that CKR is a very very busy man, but, damn, Ron. You hired him to be creepy!

[identity profile] scalderwood.livejournal.com 2009-03-15 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
What a waste of an episode.

And we better see Leoben again and he better have something good to say/do other than messing with a radio.

Gods, next week is going to suck.
