obligatory cranky early morning post

really don't wanna go to work.

also. there's that whole "women supporting other women" thing that, dude, until fandom as a whole starts supporting fictional women, I highly doubt their intentions towards real life ones.

awesome concept, though.

Yeah, that was my reaction to the supporting thing, too. Half the posts I've read, I've wanted to comment "well, yes, I'm glad you feel strongly about this, but didn't you just post the other day about how only teenyboppers like het and hetfic sucks, and about how the only bad thing about a series was every female character in it?"

I love the idea, I love it. But... If female characters, y'know, fake people who are (in some part) based on the actions of real people cause them to hate and loathe and despise, what are the real women going to cause in them?

There's a paragraph in the post about how "I might not like you, but I'll help you anyway" and that's great, it's lovely. But I don't see it actually working.

Or something like that.

Possibly, I just need some crack!tv.

Honestly, most hate for female characters seems to be what people are too scared to say to other women, or just subconsciously not liking the female near the guys(the fact that the ones who seem to get the most hate are the ones who are most clearly a love interest) which is pretty telling.

Ithink it's one of those things that's meant in complete sincerity, but that won't happen in the long run. How long until someone goes "well, I saw her early and she was enjoying herself which him" or some such?
