Hrhm.
So. Landlord doesn't actually think there are any rats. Yeesh. The man says one thing, thinks another.
C'mon people, stay constant. I need stability...
Sarcasm over.
So, yeah. Went to Ryss's. Had a blast. Will LJ cut in a moment.
I paid my library fine on Monday (last week). They weren't bad, except I apparently still have a book out. *frown* I could have sworn I'd turned it in. Anyway, I now have Poirot to read. Hrm.
So. Visited Alryssa.
The drive out was all during night, so I didn't pay much attention to things... However, way back was daylight.... I love road trips, I hate the states and crappy shit I see as I drive.
But there's this section of I-70, about fifteen miles from the eastern border with Indiana... They've turned the highway into a two-lane stretch by shunting the east-bound traffic across the divider into the west-bound side. Kinda irritating, since you drive for 15 miles with this damned concrete thing on your left.
At night it seemed oddly eerie (and, yes, there were other vehicles around me). During the day, I was able to see what was going on.
The whole east-bound side is basically ripped up. All the bridges are gone, the roadway itself is bits of gravel and dirt, for the most part. And grass. It's kind of scary, really.
Anyway. Avoided Indianapolis, Cincinatti, and other odd cities. For the most part.
But did go to Hamilton and Fairfield.
And didn't get lost! Well... I almost did...
Invaded the RyssTom Mansion, and met kitties. Max is a slightly longer-haired version of Garfield, down to having Moods and wanting to be petted, not snuggled, tyvm. Josie, otoh, wasn't sure what to think of me, but she's clearly a Snuggle!cat. More time and she might like me.
Got comics, too. And, man, is that a dangerous placement. Comic store to the right, used CD store to the left. Talk about temptation. Still, I did want to get the CDs I got. And I found 22 Brides #1....
Had lots of fun, chatted, ate good Chinese... And ended up having to leave. Sigh.
Oh! We watched the Rocky Horror dvd. It's really interesting to hear the things that get missed because the participants and idiots are shrieking overdone lines at the screen.
Tim Curry so threw himself into that part. And he loved his heels...
Did chat on two computers... *giggle* Was almost as silly as the LAN at Galley.
The trip back was sad, since I was going home. Sigh. Didn't want to leave.
One day, I will have a huge house, and people can come for extended stays.
Comics! I grabbed the Buffy series 'Haunted' since all four were there. I'm not disappointed, it's a fairly decent series. Needed more Faith, more Mayor, though. Less Buffy and friends being twitty.
Art was ok.
Got Ruse 6. Art wasn't bad, but I missed Guice. The guest artist was going for a more cartoony look. Didn't like it. There's a sort of oil painting quality to Guice's stuff. As I said. Missed it.
Also got some Grifter issues. Which I did need, despite not thinking I did.
As for cds, picked up Depeche Mode: Songs of Faith and Devotion... This is the third copy I've owned (first two were cassette), I wonder how long it'll be before it goes missing. NIN: Pretty Hate Machine--y'know, I'd always thought this album was a lot harder, but there's a very slow lyrical quality to a lot of it. Blur: Parklife - I used to have a dubbed copy of this, lost it. Am now happy. And, Pet Shop Boys: Very - This one was a must, even if only for the bumpy orange cover. Hee.
More later, I think. Or just the survey that's running around....

Re: *G*
I bought Strawberi Vodka, daquiri, and two bottles of Delaney's. I'm set for a while...
And GWP has been rebanned. Now, if we could get him k-lined....
